You were still young when the first scouting party landed, hell I can barely remember it myself after the years of bloodshed, but we had it good back then. Finally carving our own history in the face of this scarred rock. We even offered them a place amongst us as long lost brothers. But that didn't sate their appetite, their hunger for resources. Next came the "Compliance Teams", I think we're all familiar with them, in one way or another. Despite those thick skulls at least they could be bargained with.
Awkward chuckles fill the room, broken up by a friendly slap on the pauldron of one of the Betrayed. The old man continues:
You know we're glad to have you lads, but those younger brothers of yours are real bastards... dumb ones too. Which brings us to the shrunken cucumber we find ourselves in right now. I don't know how they're doing it but not only are they keeping the pressure up, it looks like there are more of them with each generation. With each day they get closer to the Citadel, the roving city's tracks are crushing as many sapplings as Re-Vader corpses, the Hive is pumping out more and more soldiers, and for the real travisty here: they might just figure out which hole Milta crawled out of before I do.
You spot what might pass for an smile on High priest Milta's face.
I know we've asked a lot of you kids so far, and there's really no way to justify what I'm about to ask of you next, but we have a chance to stop this fight for survival and start thriving again. You've all been raised on folk tales of old world caches, relics and weapons neatly stacked in storage crates. So far every one we've opened had already been plundered or damaged beyond repair. I can't in good faith guarantee you that the one we're sending you for is intact, but it is all that we have left. A last hurray for the true people of earth.
You are a youth from one of the Tribes of Earth. An earth ravaged by nuclear war hundreds of years ago. Barely out of the ceremony that determined your adulthood, flung out into the world besieged upon by the Descendants of the Elites that fled the earth in it's final moments. Raised in massive space stations an organic few send out legions of gene edited hordes to reclaim the earth their ancestors destroyed. The Tribes may have had their quarrels but now is the time for an Earth united against a common enemy.
The Tribes
The Rebuilders The largest of the tribes, they operate out of the Citadel in the west: a spawling city of brick and ethanol burning machines, surrounded by fields of corn as far as the eye can see. They value hard human work above anything else and look down upon automation and refuse to rely on Old World relics of any kind. A Technocracy where one is considered an adult after crafting their own toolset. While not particularily strong individually they have thusfar held the Re-Vaders off with massed riflemen, high walls, and their fabled armored division.
The Reforged A roving civilization of Hunter Gatherers clad in metal and furs, who built a shanty city upon the massive remaints of an Old World crawler base. It never stops moving and none of them know where it might go next, but it doesn't seem to bother them. Reforging their home as much as their bodies, not a single one of their adults is without augmentations. When they stop growin the youths are send out into the world to scavenge their own mechanical limbs in a ritual known as The Search. Reforged come in all shapes and sizes. From lithe hunters and caretakers, to hulking warrior brutes and builders.
The Hive Based in an Old World biotech facility, at birth each of them has some bonemarrow taken to be given as a tithe to the Queen, an AI that decides their role in society, or as they see it: a benevolent Queen that watches over them. On their 14th birthday each person voluntarily presents themselves to the surgeons, where they are implanted with organs grown from their own DNA by the Queen. These new organs can drastically alter their last few years of growth to prepare them for their role in the Hive. Gorgeous transhuman emissaries facilitate trade and diplomacy with the other tribes, while the extra arms of the workers help them achieve maximum efficiency. Their soft yellow body suits marked by a single coloured stripe to denote their role. Lately the Hive has had to develop specialized warriors, muscular men and women that appear to shrug off wounds that should be lethal, only to then rip their opponent's throat out with lengthened canines. These sleek fighters have so far held off the Re-Vader hordes.
The Priesthood The descendants of a group of scientists who locked up their magnum opus in the Dalian mountains before the world died a fiery death, only to slowly over the hundreds of years that followed develop a religion centered around that great invention. The machine implants intricate wiring in the bodies of those who enter it, allowing them to send simple mental commands to machinery they touch. An incredibly painful procedure that was once intended to be performed upon sedated patients, it now serves as a test of faith for the priesthood, who will willingly endure the pain while staying perfectly still. Those of strong faith can have their whole bodies covered in fine geometric artwork. While the weak may only have a few lines running along the palm of their hand. It appears to be a prototype for tech that was later implemented on a larger scale, with many relics having interface pads. There seems to some correlation between the coverage of the electoos and the amount of control a Priest can excert over relics. A big downside of such coverage is that it draws massively from the body's energy supply, leaving high Priests perpetually hungry yet skinny. In addition damage to one area may cause pain in another.
The Betrayed First generation Re-Vader troops, the so called "Compliance Teams" were vat bred clones fed fake memories created from those of the ancestors that had fled earth, instilling them with a sense of purpose. This backfired when a team of them landed near the ruins of a gorgeous landmark in the Citadel. A landmark that had been a part of their memories and instead of finding savages defiling it they found hard working men and women trying their best to restore it to it's old glory. Suddenly seeing through the lies of their masters they found themselves on a planet that wasn't their home, feared and loathed by the population and hated by those who created them. Living a nomadic existance and having an aptitude for showing up when their help was most needed they slowly gained the respect of the Tribes, while growing their numbers by showing captured fellow squads the truth. Each is completely identical to the other: sharp jawed, unusually tall, and with eyes as black as coal. The only thing setting them apart is the serial number laser branded on their backs. Most still wear the issued polycarbonate body armor, but with the white panels painted a shiny red to distance themselves from their past. Individualization is sneaking into their ranks in the form of trinkets, replacement armor panels, and flamboyant hairstyles.

Combat system:
Each character will have a set of attributes: Movement, Strength, Toughness, Wounds and Attacks Movement is how many squares you can move, diagonal moves are allowed. Strength is representative of your character's strength and fighting ability, it is used for melee attacks and out of combat actions. Toughness is your character's ability to resist damage, further explained below. Wounds is the amount of damage your character can take. Attacks is the amount of close combat attacks your character can make.
In addition every character has 2 Action Points they can use each turn on the following actions: Moving, Shooting, Melee attacking, Misc. (the same action can be performed twice.)
Weapons will often have their own Strength value or a modifier, in case of the latter add this to the character's strength. A weapon's third stat is the damage it deals on a successful hit. Ranged weapons will have a short and long range value, in their short range they will have a +1 to Strength.
To make an attack select a character within range, roll a D10 for each shot/attack and compare the Strength value of your attack with their Toughness value and apply the following modifiers: S 1 higher than T: +1 S 2 higher than T: +2 S 4 higher than T: +3 Vice versa if the Toughness is higher. Attacks wound on a 5 or higher, a 10 or higher will instead deal a critical hit that deals double damage.
Melee attacks can only be made against characters in their own square. When equipped with multiple melee weapons(and enough hands) each weapon after the first grants an extra attack that must be made with that weapon. (for instance, sword+axe = 3 sword, 1 axe OR 2/2 OR 1/3.)
When shooting if the target is inside a square that is cover they will get +2 toughness. Cover costs 1 extra Movement to move over.
Weapons that can be reasonably dual wielded can be shot as a single attack.

Re: RtD Tribes of a Reborn Earth
Name: Bogoliubov
Appearance: Tall and rickety, like a radio tower made flesh. His shaven skull crawls with subsurface wiring, imprinted at a line density that only hints at the extreme pain involved in their creation. He wears no sleeves on his cobalt blue robe - the better to display the gifts he's been given, all the layers of electoos bristling in his tissues. Bogoliubov is deathly pale, an unsettling thing to see in someone so young. It appears that only his willpower is keeping his spirit in his body. However, his face carries the beatific smile of a saint, and as his hands are clasped in ecstatic prayer, his eyes crinkle in genuine happiness.
Tribe: the Priesthood
Backstory: Born illegitimately to shrine keepers - set aside in a creche until they could be properly punished, and returned when they were reformed. His chastened parents did everything in their power to pass on sacred knowledge to the boy, in an attempt to prove their own worthiness, and succeeded beyond their wildest expectations. Bogoliubov became the pride of his teachers, but with time began to retreat into a catatonic inner world, interacting less and less with other children, ceasing to eat. Within weeks, he had fallen into a deep sleep that no one could wake him from. Believing extreme measures were necessary to save their only joy, his parents successfully lobbied for him to be placed inside the machinery while virtually comatose. What happened inside the electoo-branding chamber - he will not discuss.
Having now become a man and a priest-adept, he serves the bunker and its religious order with unquestioning faith.

Name: Lyca Appearance: A lithe girl at 172cm tall, with legs that look long relative to her torso, and arms as long as her legs. She has dirty blonde hair just past her shoulders almost resembling a mane, thick sturdy claws at her fingertips for digging, and enlarged canine teeth. Tribe: Hive Backstory: A scout for the Hive, Lyca is at home in the ruins of fallen cities and overgrown wilderness, scavenging for supplies, surviving off the land, and gathering information on the Re-Vader. When Lyca turned 14, the Queen gave her the strength of a wolf - long nimble arms and legs for running on all fours, sensitive hearing, and a powerful sense of smell to track down prey and detect various chemicals. A pair of triangular, nonfunctional dog-like ears sprout from her head, and an articulate wolf-like tail extends from her rear - playful gifts from the Queen, perhaps. Re: RtD Tribes of a Reborn Earth
Name: Tyrin Appearance: 176 cm, short black hair, and brown skin. His limbs are all replaced with metallic contraptions, all a silvery grey, save for one. That one arm was obsidian black, and slightly longer than its counterpart, and equipped with a welder that exposed through his palm. Tyrin is typically found clad in medium metal armor. Tribe: Reforged Backstory: On his Search, Tyrin ran into a Re-Vader along with his friends. During the fight, he sacrificed himself to save his companions, and his severe injuries resulted in most of his limbs being amputated. While his group had not found many augmentations between them, they all agreed to use what they had to save Tyrin. Some of his fellow Reforged thought he had not earned these parts, given through charity, and treated him with scorn on his return. He grew alienated from his people and began to learn the ways of the other tribes. While they looked down on him for his old world parts, one tribe that fascinated Tryin was the Rebuilders. Inspired by their spirit, he used his welder to create his own set of heavy armor, fitted to his body. Gear: -Arm -Arm -Legs -Welder -Knife -Medium Armor

Re: RtD Tribes of a Reborn Earth RULES DONE, MAKE CHARACTERS NOW
Name: Bromlin Appearance: Short and not the most well built man, generally looks like a complete mess thanks to his head topped with an untidy scruff of brown hair and face marred with almost permanent stubble complimented by his almost constant array of nicks and scrapes. Tribe: Rebuilder Backstory: With his skills, Bromlin Knew he'd be led into a life of manning the walls, but the idea never felt right to him. Once the opportunity came to leave the citadel, to travel outside, and take the fight to the enemy? He knew it was what he wanted, and jumped for it. Re: RtD Tribes of a Reborn Earth RULES DONE, MAKE CHARACTERS NOW
Name: C14-27-4001, "Siesta Aoi" Appearance: A Betrayed, still wearing his body armor painted red like most, save for all the plates being removed from his left arm leaving only the black undersuit. Across the plates on his chest, stomach, and right arm are several stripes of deep blue, contrasting the red of the rest of the panels. Tribe: The Betrayed Backstory: Siesta worked with his brothers to fight the Re-Vaders for years, acting with pride as a front line designation trooper. His implanted training and muscle memory all gave him strong situational position awareness, shield usage, and melee training with a standard machete. The shield is what saved his life when a grenade detonated just a few meters in front of him during an ambush on a Re-Vader strike group, strapped to his left arm and protecting his body. His arm bearing the shield was not as lucky, and though it still has full strength, his left now has an unstoppable jitter that makes gun handling impossible with that hand. Thankfully, a shield has no trigger and needs no precision. A long stint in a hospital, a brief fling with painkillers, and months of attempted physical therapy later, Siesta has declared himself fit to return to duty. Gear: - SMG (5) - Shield (5) - Medkit (10) Stats: M4, S4, T4, A3, W10

Re: RtD Tribes of a Reborn Earth First roll incoming this week.
Chapter 1: the Escape.
The Members of the crowd give you the supplies you'll need on your journey: food, ammunition, notes with scribbled prayers, etc. Then the Old man hands Bromlin a map, adding: "We're awefully sorry we couldn't pinpoint the exact location of the vault for you, but this should get you a good way there.
Good luck you kids, Milta will show you out."
Barely a second after ascending the stairs from the basement to the Temple proper you are rudely interrupted by an earth shaking explosion to the north. Through the church's windows you can see pieces of the Northern Bridge being scattered all over the straight and hear smaller pieces of rubble clatter down on the roof of the temple. Lyca hears a single faint beep before the western wing of the church blows in, revealing 2 Cutters and the Breacher who probably planted the charge. While the Cutters scamper over the rubble the Breacher racks his shotgun and points it an High Priest Milta. Your still ringing ears barely pick up the sound of the shot, making the bright muzzle flash and splatter of gore across the wall almost beautiful. His lifeless body falls over in what seems like slow motion. "Don't look so surprised, you're getting evicted.......from the planet."
NEW ENEMIES: Breacher: Commando program dropouts who tended to be a little too comfortable with the concept of 'Collateral damage'. M3, S4, T5, A2, W8 -Shotgun -Mace
Cutter: Misshapen Revader troops, employed en mass against their enemies. M4, S3, T3, A2, W4 -Blade limbs (S user, D1)

Seeing as there's very little you can do without getting caught in a crossfire you instead move closer to the back wall of the church and peer out the windows. The bridge out of town is most certainly a non-option for escape. With a few revader troops guarding the watchtowers, you assume to gun you down in case you try to flee that way.
Your training overwhelms the shock from the explosion in an instant and you're moving towards the source before anyone else is, your shield covering your body and hopefully those of your new allies. With your other hand you 8 4 11 pepper the closest cutter with bullets, bringing it close to death.
You jump over the table in front of you and with a loud clanking noise land on the other side. Bringing your flamethrower around in a fluid motion and pointing the nozzle to the recently created eastern exit. With a roar the flamethrower engulfs both the second cutter 9 and the breacher 2 with flames. The former crashes into a wall and collapses in an attempt to run away, the latter holding up an arm to block the fire from reaching his unprotected face but wholly unharmed.
Without a second thought you charge at the first cutter and plant your Welder centremass 10 burning a hole all the way through the lightly armored flesh that spews smouldering chunks of flesh out of it's back, which is for the best since your knife 4 glances awkwardly off it's shoulder. Feeling confident in your cutter removal abilities you think about also murdering the second one. It is a bit hard to hit as it is flailing wildly from Bromlin's flamethrower. Not even a second later the breacher, now with a good size hole in his belly, limps towards you and fires his shotgun 51 with most of the pellets bouncing off of your armor, and only one unlucky hit pushing itself into the flesh of your left thigh.

With a thought you launch the drone disguised as a headdress from it's resting place. It unfolds midair and make an audible click as the short barreled shotgun chambers a shell, followed by a loud report as it 3 4 5 fills the the still hanging of the first cutter with buckshot. You hardly noticed while you aim your rifle at the breacher still holding up his arm 10 hitting him right in the gut.
The gunfire inside hasn't gone unnoticed and you hear something trying to smash down the front door. Lyca informs you that she didn't see anymore troops directly to the east of the church.
