Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the thread
Well deserved bump.
Pros and cons for season finale
Cons
1.More songs than actual dialogue 2.Not much actually happens, yet I still think it feels rushed 3.Still unsure about the whole Alicorn thing (although there are apparently 2 more episodes in season 4 that follow up on this)
Pros
Trixie is now the most powerful unicorn in equestria

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the thread
I don't mind Twi becoming an alicorn myself. Rather should be interesting seeing if anything substantial in their 'daily lives' will changes now that she's a purty princess. Also, I loved the songs, made it kind of a musical ep. That's fine by me.
So only con for me was that it did feel a bit rushed, not a really big conflict leading up to Twi becoming an alicorn. Obviously Celestia/Luna planned it all along, judging by the foreshadowing at season start, but overall solving that spell didn't seem like a huge deal, coupled with becoming an alicorn/princess.
That said, I thought some of the latter episodes of this season were a bit meh, but this one was (imo) pretty damn awesome despite above mentioned stuff. So for me it ended on a high note, and these developments could make for some interesting story come the next season. After all, it can't be easy keeping things fresh when the characters stay the same for so long and they don't really change setting a lot either. Personally, I'd love to see some more regular adventure arc(s). The Crystal Empire and sort of gritty looking medieval bits of Canterlot were pretty sweet to see in the first two eps and Trixie ep respectively, and seeing some different parts of the world would be awesome (Saddle-Arabia).
Also hope (I think it is) the next season will be a full one again. Half season is just not the same...

I loved it, although I'm still on the fence re how this is going to turn out.
EDIT also I think what they mean is that the two-parter to kick-off season 4 is going to be a direct follow-up

you say that, but consider this: TV Movie: CONFIRMED Equestria Girls: CONFIRMED
WHAT NOW BRO?

Well I could pull a /mlp/ and run around with my ♥♥♥♥ head cut off, or we could wait and see. I know I'll be rereading FoE in the meantime.

Fan ponies, fan ponies, FAN PONIES.
Pretty decent, even with all the fan pandering. But then again, it is a fanimation for fans, so I guess it makes sense.

It was fun to watch but it really didn't do what it set out to do, which was to create an episode that could be considered equal of that to the series. Personally I think if they dropped all pretenses and just made the whole thing a crossover, that would have been great.

On the subject of fan-stuff, (and it's been a bit of time since this happened) the Fighting Is Magic game that was being made by a group called Mane6 got shut down by Hasbro. It was looking pretty good too.

On the other hand Faust is now making characters for them and they got the Skullgirl engine for free.
