Re: WH40k discussion
http://gravengames.co.uk/forge-father-i ... or-review/Mantic: 40k on the cheap. I've finally decided that GW is way too expensive for me, since I do like to maintain a fair few hobbies. Although they do make kickass models, so do other companies. And for a fraction of the price.

Yeap, I try to get models as cheap and good looking as possible. GW's prices are insane.

Mantic: 40k on the cheap. That'd make a pretty good Kan with some bitz and gubbinz on it to make it proper Orky-like.

Son of a cock. I just realised why the magnets in the hip connection on the titan were so weak - clued the magnet upside down. Atleast now I know that nail polish remover also removes super glue.

Re: WH40k discussion
Check out this 40k tatoo. But anyway, I've been considering taking up 40k, suggestions for painting? I hear a lot about thinning paints, but what exactly do you mean by that? I assume you mean put a few drops of the paint in water?

Re: WH40k discussion
Essentially, just don't use globs of paint. You can do it any way you want, I prefer just to use tiny amounts at a time, some people dilute their paint, etc. Whatever floats your boat. But for the love of god thin them. EDIT: derpader i are the dum

Re: WH40k discussion
So, I'm heading out to a local hobbyshop tomorrow that sells a bunch of W40K models and essentials, and I'm planning on buying my first set of stuff. What I want to know, is if buying a rulebook is worth the cost when I could just find one for free online. Is it helpful for quick reference? Is it easier to have one with you for every game? I know that getting into this hobby is going to be expensive, so I want to cut costs wherever I can so I can buy more models, tools, and paint.

Re: WH40k discussion
You're going to need a rulebook one way or another, and it's best to have one with you But I recommend either buying a starter kit with a rulebook or looking for one of the starter kit rulebooks on eBay These are good for quick reference and I doubt you'd have much use for the giant hulking piece of text that is the normal rulebook for at least a few games

Re: WH40k discussion
Well, I went. And I had much more fun than I thought I should have had. The guy there was fantastic, and he threw in a free set of quality brushes and knocked $10 off of my final order just because he wanted an even number. I was informed of how to properly paint my new squad, and when local meetups were. In total, I got: 1 Tau Fire Warrior Team 1 Tau Codex 1 Set of Citadel Brushes 1 Citadel Plastic Cutter 1 Citadel Plastic Glue 1 Pot of Ceramic White Paint 1 Pot of Fire Dragon Bright Paint 1 Pot of Abaddon Black Paint
Next week I'm going to head back for the Rulebook. For now, I have to read my new Codex, and assemble/paint my Fire Warriors.

Do you field those guys as necrons or imperials? They're awesome either way though! Really tight conversions.

Re: WH40k discussion
Well, time for an update on the actual Titan, assemblement is done and it can stand finally. The color here looks more grey then pink it I swear it's light pale pink (Montana Gold G3100 Frozen Strawberry). Lightning is kinda bad as it's taken outside the most slaaneshi place in my house; the sauna. ...And here's a pic of my cat.
