Re: WH40k discussion
And can I get an army of Tau and have Necrons as allies?
I mean, Tau are willing to be friends of everyone, so why not?

Re: WH40k discussion
I don't think it'd work lore-wise, since don't the necrons kinda want to wipe out every single living being?

Re: WH40k discussion
I remember seeing there was some Lore thing where the Necrons arrived on a Tau planet under attack. The Necrons killed all of the attackers, and the Tau were about to accept them into the greater good, right before the Necrons turned around and killed all the Tau too.

:C
Stupid everything, I want to play them both.
Is there any way to make Tau not so kill-able in close combat?

Shooting people before they get in cc?
Using flamer battlesuits seems to be really efficient. Flamers and missile pods were really efficient iirc. Just take another army as detachment to fill the gap.

Get some Kroot, badassest CC dudes ever, and they're part of the Tau empire thingy.

Re: WH40k discussion
Pulse carbines. I usually had two squads of six on my front lines whenever I played, and in my opinion they are infinitely more useful than kroot. But yeah, as Tau the general idea is to destroy them before they get that close.

I don't have a tau codex, but stat wise I would seriously consider them.

Re: WH40k discussion
They are pulse rifles, but are assault 2 instead of rapid fire, have considerably less range (18" vs 30") and are pinning.
Even though pinning is nice, most dudes I know play Space Marines, and that Ld 9 really makes it kinda useless. And having to get that close to fire is kinda dangerous, so I'd prefer to have those extra 12" to fire more.
But I don't know, I've never seen Tau in action, so I just don't know how effective can that be. Maybe as you said, a Battlesuit with a flamer would prove useful to prevent guys from reaching the Fire Warriors.
Man, I really hate that Fire Warriors only have two weapon choices that aren't even that different. Why can't they use flamers, plasma guns or a fusion blaster? :C

What I know about Tau is that flechette launchers are damn scary.

Re: WH40k discussion
Did someone say "Hey Azakan, you better show us how you work on the Titan is comming along!"... No? Well I'll show it anyway damnit >_<
A renegade is as big as a toe, me likey Titan. The shield in the bottom of the pic is the... "Codpeice", in lack of better therms.
The pose from the side, did almost turn out as I hoped for, but it stand by itself and that was the importent part!
Me, trying to show how the leg armour will fit to the titan.
The feet was a TIDIEOUS TEDIOUS* work, about 20-peices on each foot, luckely for me my gf handled that ^^; the legs were ok to build but the posing were horrible to get right.
Aaaah, now for the fun part, upperbody and GUNS!
*Thank you izen for showing me, a filthy non native-english how it's done
