Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown (Firaxis Remake)
Yeah but you'd be able to kill those anyways, seeing as you knew they were there in the first place.

Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown (Firaxis Remake)
Why do I have 5 snipers and two of every other class? Game what is wrong with you?
Sniper are cool though, I still like my support better, but that might be because 'skinner' is always amazingly lucky and has only missed twice. Also psy support. I also really like heavies, the rocketlauncher is a very good last ditch weapon, and the shredder shells are useful as ♥♥♥♥ against the heavier enemies.

I like rotating rookies and squaddies into my squads. Adds some challenge when about half your team is panicking and shooting each other in the face.

Sectopods
I despise the escort missions Not only does it seize control of your camera to play some unskippable audio that nobody cares about whenever it's the civilian's turn, they invariably get poisoned and panic, wasting one of the three turns they then have to get to the escape route and sometimes just dying because they're too stupid to run to the place that will save them when they are scared I would understand if panicking people ran towards the exit with no regard for cover, it's just stupid when they panic and use their scaredness to sit there doing nothing instead of trying to get away from danger.

I just lost an entire squad, including 2 colonels and 2 sergeants, to a sectopod, a berserker, and 4 armored mutons. ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥.

Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown (Firaxis Remake)
Just finished it. The final mission really is interesting, the entire squad died, all but one murdered by the alien overlord. "Skinner" once again proving his worth as the squads ultimate soldier, a psychic support trooper.
Also, is it just me or is the game a bit short?

Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown (Firaxis Remake)
I think the campaign is "short" because it's possible to lose and have to start over, I don't know what difficulty you're playing on but it's definitely not been short for me.

Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown (Firaxis Remake)
If every game had randomly generated scenarios and technology trees that aren't obvious for the player from the start they'd also be as replayable.
Oh yeah and bull♥♥♥♥ alien moving outside of their turn.

Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown (Firaxis Remake)
The game is not to "short" per se, just not replayable enough... or not replayable at all for my taste.
The Alien Overlord died in two shots (one round) from my Sniper I posted a pic on on the last page, kinda wimpy boss as the minions died as he did...

Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown (Firaxis Remake)
I thought to take everything out at first. Boy was I wrong to do so. 2 more Ethereals showed up and they had a grand old time mind controlling my soldiers. The Volunteer didn't stand a chance, heavy plasma or not. God damn Classic Ironman.

Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown (Firaxis Remake)
OK SO
I am positively surprised by how fun this is. The fact that i can call my scottish assault soldier "WHISKEY ♥♥♥♥" helps too. He manages to get wounded in almost every fight, but he still lives, unlike two sort-of-veteran supports. :c Also, sniper rocks. Especially MOOSEFIST "SYRUP" MAPLEBLAST the canadian sniper captain. He shoots all the things, even with a puny laser pistol. So yeah, that's pretty nice.

I lost my two super-veterans in the last mission, both had survived from the first deployment until the final mission RIP Frank "patches" Sinatra -support/medic, -psionic energy ball RIP Joe "Roadie" Desinga -assault/psychopath -another psionic energy ball :C I also had to put down my top sniper, who got MC'd by the big boss RIP Frank "Drifter" Texico -sniper extraordinaire -depressingly friendly fire The only survivors were Ching "stereotype" Chee, my first and best psychic and Menstruya "Dozer" Reddinator, the cowardly heavy.

No Dauss, Everything is heresy, everything shall fall to heresy, For heresy is good. Join the Herd, Slaanesh demands you to!. on a related notice, I don't see why people saying it's Short, The game is as long as you want it to be, You do what i do and research everything before researching Prioity stuff, Along with buying it, Then it can take such a long time, I only Just and it i had rushed at certian parts, waited to get everyone with Plasma weapons before i did the Mission mind you.
