Tribes: Ascend
Anyone here play Tribes: Ascend? I've only started a few weeks ago, but I'm faring pretty well off against most opponents and getting a nice bunch of kills. For those who aren't familiar with the game, Tribes: Ascend is a unique 3D fps game with a rather interesting emphasis on movement and physics. All players have limited mobility jetpacks as well as the ability to turn your suit frictionless which is also known as "skiing" in-game. Combat is fast paced with some of the lighter classes capable of reaching nearly 300 kmph (Moving at that speed makes you very difficult to target, but you also tend to go to plaid if you make a bad landing...) Most weapons are projectile based with a bit of travel time, which makes predicting an enemy's moves a very important part of the game. You can register and play for free here: https://account.hirezstudios.com/tribesascend/Or if you feel like giving me some rewards for referring you, this link. https://account.hirezstudios.com/tribesascend/?referral=1572970&utm_campaign=email

Aww, I was about to make a thread about T:A with videos and everything (And my own referral link ). Anyways, I'm rank 18, I play in the Amsterdam region and I love T:A. I play all classes except jugg and sent, if you're wondering. Feel free to send me your friend invites and stuff.

Re: Tribes: Ascend
I play sentinel and I love the class. Only other class I love more is the juggernaut. I just generally like delivering death from a distance.
edit: lol just read your post hyperion, I'm like the entire opposite of you in a sense. Do you happen to have Pathfinder as your favorite class? (its my least favorite since I always miss grabbing the flag by a foot or so and end up embarrassing myself before dying without purpose)

Re: Tribes: Ascend
I prefer to play raider with a plasma gun, it allows me to piss people off at a range and I'm usually close enough to the enemy base to make the occasional flag grab.
Sometimes I like to bluff and jump the flag, only to go soaring over it on purpose, with a little luck the enemy defenders come chasing after me opening the defenses for a pathfinder to swoop in.

I normally either go Pathfinder, because gottagofast, or... Juggernaut/Artillery guy.
Still saving up experience to buy Reach and the Pathfinder Boost.

Re: Tribes: Ascend
the sentinel's purpose, classwise, is to be the most irritating battlefield troll possible and generally flush enemy morale down the toilet
just park in a cap path and punch holes in people as they ski in (annoying as hell), drop claymores everywhere (more annoying), and then plant a drop jammer to make yourself impossible to find (jesus christ ragequit everything)

If a sentinel kills you, just go doombringer and ♥♥♥♥ him up so badly he'll need an ass crutch just for sitting down after he's respawned.

While this might not be strictly in the rules. I found it kind of douchy to put in a referral link without saying so to the participants. So I changed the OP a bit.

Uh. I don't see how it's douchey to refer people if it gets you things. They get to play the game because of you. Then you get prizes for that. Seems fair to me.

I don't think it was the referral link, I think he meant that posting the referral link and not telling people it's different from a normal link is the douchey thing.

But it isn't. It's getting you to the game all the same.

Not really. I don't think I have a favorite class, I just play the class that my team needs. (Except jugg and sent, because I hate juggs and my aim isn't that good.) TheKebbit wrote: the sentinel's purpose, classwise, is to be the most irritating battlefield troll possible and generally flush enemy morale down the toilet Sounds more like jugg and fractal brute to me. Sents are for flag defense. Anyways, do any of you play on the Amsterdam servers?
