Re: AFTERWORLD: THE ODYSSEY
harzipan has it pretty bad as well; his ship has intermittent power loss (kiss that life support goodbye) and he's heavily reliant on drones which could be disrupted by another solar storm
i can't think of a way to ████ fail flail over though
likewise with miggles
this also going slow due to real life

That does sound quite bad, but his hull is still intact. Me and Cozur are in a league of our own, right now. TheKebbit wrote: i can't think of a way to ████ fail flail over though
Exotic planet. Knock yourself out. Uber Magnetic fields, space debris from planetary rings, hostile alien race. Lots of choices on this one. TheKebbit wrote: likewise with miggles
He's in a asteroid field, right? Space dust, asteroids punching into the ship, the ship punching into large asteroids, etc. TheKebbit wrote: this also going slow due to real life Completely understandable. I think real life affects every RTD at some point. These are just some suggestions, hopefully to help out a little.

Re: AFTERWORLD: THE ODYSSEY
Oh god, radiation, I hate radiation.
Major Actions Take the suggested (and most logical) action and break out of that orbit, using the retro thrusters to get to a further orbit would probably be the best option, however if power is too low (The chances of that being the case is probably higher than I'm hoping) try to take a closer orbit.
Make sure the population of the ship is properly protected and treated for radiation, and begin scrubbing the radiation from the ship as soon as we're away from the belt.
Try to get the ship working to an acceptable standard again (Re-route power from unneeded or destroyed systems, fix electrical problems such as shorting where the reactor was, ect.)
Minor Actions Whats the exact layout of the system? I want to know about every single rock or gas ball I can cras- I mean land the ship on. If scanners and the like take up too much power then just use visuals and knowledge from prior scans.
Give a speech to my employees, reassuring them as well as giving my respect and gratitude to the brave souls that sacrificed their lives.
If any of my previous actions puts any of my crew in danger then cancel that action, I've lost too many people already.

Well at least my people won't be able to be impregnated by alien tentacle horrors of the deep (EDIT: for clarification, that meant you, your people are gunna get Tenta-Raped)

Re: AFTERWORLD: THE ODYSSEY
Scan the atmosphere of both planets for any toxins and the availability of oxygen. Use any remaining thrusters to turn to the least dangerous of the two planets and take the ship out the gravity based lock and on a course to the surface. Have spacesuit equipped teams lock of any holes that can't be closed by airlocks.
Minor: set up loyalists at the entry of both the labs and armoury.
Not so drunk now.
