World of TANKS
So yeah. I figured we needed a discussion thread, rather than blathering about it in the Lounge.

Re: World of TANKS
I haven't been killed by many SPGs, so I don't have a final verdict yet. I do know from the wiki that they are the most powerful, but have a lot of downsides, too. They seem like respectable vehicles. With all the downsides, and especially the awful accuracy, the skill put into playing one well is enough to make me respect a guy that does.

With all the faults that a SPG has, I have a lot of respect for someone who has decided to play one. But people who use heavy tanks as snipers? Those guys can die in a electrical fire.

Re: World of TANKS
I'd rather they slowly have parts of their bodies exposed to nitric acid. So they lose their foot in a slow painful manner, and it works up so eventually they die. Bloodloss may be an issue so we just poor more blood into them, and speed up the clotting.

EDIT : Every time I've been playing World of Tanks, or any graphically intensive game, my machine would reboot after around a half hour of gaming, or slow down to become unplayable. And now I think I might have figured out why. I think my graphics card has been throttling itself to protect itself from over heating.

Started playing. It's pretty fun, though I'm not sure it will take over TF2 as my main source of mmo entertainment.

Re: World of TANKS
The problem with playing SPGs is their hueg unprofitability and grind (tier 3 SPGs have the grind of a tier 4 regular tank). Do you know how much credits each shell costs on the tier 5 German SPG, the Hummel? 1000 credits apiece.
Also, some heavy tanks are actually meant to be snipers. The Lowe, for instance. Sometimes even heavy tanks don't have the armor to weather a sustained beating, or they have a few glaring weakspots that everyone can exploit up close.
But I do agree that camper heavies are the worst thing ever. They should be pushing the main line and tackling other heavies, or at least supporting the line and sniping other heavies.

Re: World of TANKS
Just had a fun match as the Panzerjager.
Yes, that's a tank destroyer. No, I did not snipe. I was in the front line with the mediums, blowing out peoples tracks.

Re: World of TANKS
I've yet to unlock the Panzerjager. I just need a bit more Free XP so I can unlock it.
EDIT: The French don't have many tanks at all. However, they are the only ones who get a heavy tank as early as tier 4, which is nice I guess?

Glowsticks, go Hetzer. It'll be a bit of a grind but you need the StugIII that comes after.
