I wannna read horus rising, but that trilogy is nigh impossible to find down here.
I did find a copy of Battle of the Fang, though, and it was very enjoyable. Oh, and the Ciaphas Cain collection is quite awesome.

The full story is composed of fifteen books, so I'll be busy for quite a while.

Do you guys think the terminator captain is worth the points? And if so which would be the best loadout?

Currently I gave him some power claws, but I completely magnetized him, so I'll probably go the whole ten yards.

THUNDERHAMMER!
Okay, I may just really like thunder hammers.
But think about it, your army is lacking some serious anti-tank weaponry(last time I saw a list) and a thunder hammer fits the bill just right. And IIRC you can give a captain a gun in the other hand, making for a potent anti-everything character if you give him a combi flamer.

Oh god, the awesome.

Anyway, this is my current 1500 list

I kind of have more anti-tank now and a lot less troops. Although if we escalate it all the way to 1750 I can throw in some more filler marines, along with a lascannon, another missile launcher and one more powerfist.

Yeah, that's pretty awesome, really ♥♥♥♥ awesome.

About the list, that's more like it! I think the termi captain certainly fits in with his two lighting claws.
A shame he doesn't really go well with the other terminator squad, since they are more allround and he is full CQC. Ah well, let him terrorize some people by himself, character hunter?

Dat trailer. :-?

Also, if you want your cap to go with the shooty termies, why not give him an auxiliary grenade launcher? It's basically a shorter-ranged missile launcher, and the option to throw a krak at an intervening vehicle could add some tactical versatility to the squad.

Drill barrel before painting, that's about it. It looks really good for a first model.

What maart3n said. And try not to paint straps and such in metallics. I mean, it can look cool, but why would he have iron suspenders?

Those are metal plates if I see corectly, looks cool, however just a few tips.

The muzzle (or whatever you call that thing where the lead comes out) is too wide, you really only need a small circle for that, personally I'd at least give the skin a slightly heavyer wash and then maybe lightly drybrush that lighter green on. Get a wash for the leather, maybe ogerin flesh, or delven mud. The blood looks a little... strange, personally, I'd get rid of it, or maybe a darker colour (red gore?), maybe use a brass for the bullets and odds and ends to make them look more like, well, odds and ends (Thats the stuff Orkz are made from) and if you listen to ANYTHING from this at all do two things, get the Badab Black wash and wash all the metal, that boltgun metal looks more like a mitheral silver (it isn't is it?), and use Chaos black for a base coat, the only 2 armies I've used white as a base for is my Tau (which turned out terrible when I tryed to mass paint 50+ fire warriours) and Howling Griffons (and have spent 2+ hours on each bloody tactical marine). The black does two things, it darkens the whole tone of the model as well as preventing any unpainted spots from showing up (such as between the metal and the red of the gun there) doing this saves you heaps of time when you're doing things like cloaks or models with hard to reach bits.

Anyway, all that said (read through that again, its not that many points, I swear it only looks long) it looks pretty good, much better than my first ( and subsequently last) Ork. I love the teeth, I'd love to know what wash you used, I want it for my nids. Also what did you do with the eyes, they look strangly metallic. (Also also, have you notice how much I love brackets?)

Also please pardon the spelling mistakes, its quite late over here and I'm quite tired.

So i recently Finished reading Fulgrim (the 5th book in the horus heresy series) and by god i see the emperor children in a different light.

Regardless i'm still sticking with Khorne and Tzeentch since rubric marines and Berserker are so much more better than Noise marines ( in my play style at least)

Actually, using white as a basecoat for Tau is advised, since they tend to be painted in brighter schemes.

Anyway, I think he actually washed his model properly. As in with babab black, he just didn't do the entire model.(or redid the basecoat after the wash...)

Also, those are indeed metal plates or leather straps, depends on how you see them.

My biggest tip is: Either base your model properly, or paint the base black, this will make them look about a hundred times better with next to no added effort.

thanks for the tips guys, also on the topic of paints, my currently available paints are quite limited so a lot of the colours you see there are custom made, I've got some more coming in.

only the top part is metallic coloured, it looked like a little iron bar running along his shoulders to me

chainmail with devlan mud wash actually, my boltgun paint should be in soon

EDIT: devlan mud was the only was I used, layered in thick slaps, but I painted over it in a few areas, making it look uneven, in case anyone was wondering.

I have a small group of Imperial guard, although they're not painted very well.
I even did the command squad flag bearer.
The flag looks crappy.

@maart3n: White basecoats can work out really well with Tau, but they're fidley and require alot of time, and said a babdab black wash for the metal, not the whole model. I agree with the black, I was taught how to paint back in the days before all this newfangled specific colour basing, much simpler times.

I would advise against using a brown wash for the skin, it makes everything look dirty, I'd redo the the metal as soon as you get boltgun metal and are you going to get rid of the blood?. Also, I'd love to have a look at that guard Izen.
