Re: Mechwarrior Online
Eh, i kinda lost faith in the mechwarrior series after i saw the trailer newest one,Although it if has the Timbler wolf, novacat Maskari Turkna(spelt wrong most likely) or a Mad dog i may get it. then again timberwolf will be in, what mechwarrior game won't have the poster mech of the series (Mad cat = Timber wolf variant,Just saying.)

Re: Mechwarrior Online
Signed up ready. This is going to be fun.
I'll probably have a Uziel, strip out the missiles for more heat sinks.
Those duel PPC's make a lot of heat.

LordVonKain wrote: (Mad cat = Timber wolf variant,Just saying.) FUNFACT1: Timber Wolf is the CORRECT name for the Mad Cat FUNFACT2: the game is set just before the clan invasion, so no clan mechs and thus: the Timber Wolf, Novacat, Masakari, Turkina and Mad Dog are not in. But the Atlas is in and there's a good chance the Rifleman is too, so everything is fine.

Asklar wrote: Could someone explain me a bit of the game, please? You pilot a giant Mech, gameplay is most likely gonna be rather simulator like, EG: you have to manage heat levels, can rotate your torso seperate from your legs, have several radar settings etc. I would not be suprised if the complexity scares off a load of people. If you want an idea of what the game Might be like play MW4, Official Free download available here.

Re: Mechwarrior Online
Well that put me off it for sure. Then, If it has the Assault / Support mech such as the AWESOME (yes it called the AWESOME it's a 80 Ton mech if i remember correctly from mech commander) and the catapult which is a... 65 ton mech if i recall correctly. Also the Maskari is also a Warhawk, the mad dog is also a vulture the nova cat is also a.... something else i cannot remember, to me it just a different name based on the different variants between mech, some can argue it like calling the M4 and the M16 the same weapon. when they're kinda are just different roles. Mad cats to me had two PPC's (the ironic main weapon that is) while the Timber wolf has two Gauss rifles as well as other different weaponload outs. I may get into it later but the lack of Clan mech rather put me off. honestly i really love the clan mech, The look and apperances always made me feel awesome, Even in the scout mech such as the uller or couger.
This really makes me want to pull out my old copy of Mechwarrior 2 and play it again however.
Bloody awesome game, even more so for the age it was made in.

Re: Mechwarrior Online
to be honest im interested in why they decide not to add any clan mechs
I mean the main and biggest selling point of mechwarrior was mainly the clans as in the IS vs the Mech in combat hell even the timber wolf is on the cover of the game.
Even more so with Clan wolf.

Stop taking Mechassault to be canon, Mechassault is a Battletech game in name ONLY, there are several stupid things in it, EG: 90% of the weapons don't work how they Should, most notably PPCs. MECH NAME FACTS: The Mad Cat IS called the Timber Wolf, Inner Sphere guys called it the Mad Cat because it looks vaguely like a cross between the Marauder and Catapult Mechs. The Vulture is Officially named the Mad Dog. I'll admit i got Masakari wrong, it's actually called the Warhawk. the Nova Cat is called the Nova Cat, End of Discussion. Variants of Mechs simply have number or letter after them, some atlas variants: AS7-C, AS7-K, AS7-D-DC, AS8-D, you should get the idea from that. On the subject of clan mechs, there is a high chance that they will be introduced post launch in an expansion pack.
