I wasn't looking for anything in particular. Series 5 crates have a few hats I don't have, so I went with one that I had sitting around for a long time. The fact remains that I haven't ever found anything nice in a crate. I know there are strategies to getting what you want, but it comes down to pure luck in the end.

So. A necro, because I honestly think talking about a mod of this game warrants a new thread, BUT: Do any of you guys play Pirates, Vikings, an Knights? If you don't, I'd recommend you check it out (under the mod section of TF2) So do any of you guys play it?

Delayed.

Re: Team Fortress Deux
The shortstop and Persian Persuader (I don't use.) Have become very useless in the latest update. Shortstop reload much slower. And Persuader heal 15s and 25s on ammo pickup instead of 100s.
But the new loadout is interesting.

Re: Team Fortress Deux
Pyro can use The Reserve Shooter, The Widowmaker uses only 30 metal per shot, giving you a lot more ammo in total.

Re: Team Fortress Deux
The massive healing (almost full health from every kill) was overpowered, while I liked using it I'm not that upset It still heals you and you still charge twice as often so it's still the best demosword because charging is your best move

Widowmaker needed that buff. @Faram The shortstop was OP before. Dunno about the persuader change, but it sounds underpowered now. The new loadout is a reskin, a reskin, a hat and a misc.

Re: Team Fortress Deux
Man the Widowmaker is radicool for battle engie now
Reserve shooter on pyro is neat; I haven't played around with it too much but it's seeming pretty cool
Loadout presets are great

Re: Team Fortress Deux
Degreaser + reserve shooter airblast > switch > blast away.
And yeah battle engie is pretty damn cool now.

Re: Team Fortress Deux
Reserve shooter is funny but pretty much only good for killing pyros, soldiers and scouts because pyros don't catch fire and the other two fly all over the place anyway. It has less ammo than the regular shotgun and even if you minicrit every shot you're doing less damage than the regular shotgun because that's 1.5x3 instead of 1x6, although it is higher burst damage. The shotgun is just more versatile and probably still the best pyro secondary. The switch speed also stacks with degreaser so it's possible to get the shotgun out and fire it before the server even registers your airblast! And there are very few reasons for not using the degreaser.
The widowmaker is the ♥♥♥♥ though, I love that thing. Battle engie since the patch is probably my most played class.

Re: Team Fortress Deux
Yeah, I traded my Reserve Shooter but while I had it I just used it for the extra switch speed so I could Axtinguish people even faster.

Re: Team Fortress Deux
I like the costumes, I would wear them all the time, but the fact that they are bound to one week a year + whatever servers want to run halloween maps means that it is seriously not worth the ridiculous effort of grabbing rarely spawning, randomly placed boxes before the 12 other scouts in the game get there as many times as it takes to get every piece that you want means it is absolutely not worth the effort

Re: Team Fortress Deux
Keep in mind you can also wear them on full moons, so there are still some other chances. Still, it's a lot of effort for something that doesn't seem very permanent.
