On Topic: Bethesda, grab your lawyers and tell them that not only does this kind of action make it look like you're scrounging for loose change, but that it would be a bad idea to take up a petty fight against probably the most popular man in the gaming industry right now.

Also, tell your PR department that they're allowed to strangle your lawyers if they attempt anything similar in the future.

Do you actually think that any of the bros who play Call of Duty <newest number> religiously know or care about who the ♥♥♥♥ Notch is? How about all the grandmas and soccer moms who bought Wiis for Wii Fit and Wii Sports?

Gaming is orders of magnitude bigger than Notch's tiny slice of the world. No one outside of a very small percentage of the total gaming public will ever even HEAR about this, and trying to argue otherwise is ridiculous.

Notch: It was fun while it lasted, but all of your latest updates are pathetic. Get out of the gaming world forever
Bethesda: As of now they're all being run by monkeys

Why the hell would he just quit?
Everyone in the company has a life to live and they are goddamn well gonna live it. You may not like that, but that's how it works. I admit that some of his shortcomings were pretty unnecessary (Civ V for instance.) but oh well.

What pisses me off is how people get pissed pissed pissed pissed over stupid ♥♥♥♥ like updates.
Think about it this way:
Huge mainstream games? Half the lot of them don't update more than once or twice in every half of a year, and the only ones that actually add more than bugfixes are PC games which are modable. With mods comes more entertainment.
Minecraft isn't really any different by now. It's still an indie game. It still updates.
You may as well quit your whining. Minecraft updates a hella lot faster than most games currently in existence, with the possible exception of newer indie games.
