Post [TXT] Agilo's Trial
Agilo's Trial

Your name is Agilo, a spy for the English. While touring Germany, looking for any signs of increased militarization, you attended a party hosted by Graff Gregor von Stettin, the local count. There, you met up with a Count you were acquainted with from back home, Count Edward Ulster, who was also enjoying the hospitality of von Stettin. During the party, the Count accidentally spilled an entire glass of wine on von Stettin's face, angering him greatly. It was with difficulty that von Stettin controlled himself, but the party went on without a hitch beyond that.
Two days later, you are almost ready to depart when you by chance walk past von Stettin's war room and overhear a worrying conversation.

"Jan, ready the men, tomorrow morning they must pack their things and be gone within the week. Count Ulster will pay for this."
"Graff von Stettin, is this wise? England will surely retaliate!"
"Dammit Jan, do as I say."
You could not help but gasp, alerting the men to your presence.
"Jan, there's someone at the door, capture them!"

As you attempted to escape, something tackled you from behind and you hit your head on the flagstone. When you woke up, over you stood the form of Jan, the personal servant of Graff von Stettin.

"Englishman, listen to me carefully, for you do not have much time. Graff von Stettin is planning to assassinate Count Ulster, which as you know will provoke open war between England and Germany. No one wants that, especially I, for I have a son in the Kaiser's army. You must escape and warn Count Ulster, but I cannot just let you go. The Graff will be checking to make sure he has the key to the door at all times. I will instead leave a packet of traveling goods at the foot of the dungeon stairs, and leave you the key to unlock your manacle, but you must escape the dungeon itself on your own. Good luck, and godspeed."

As soon as he was done talking, you blacked out again, vaguely hearing the huge bronze door rumble shut.

You wake up. Around your ankle is a simple IRON MANACLE, and the room you are in is lit decently well by a brass lamp just outside the window in the BRONZE DOOR that takes up the south wall. In your pocket is a SMALL KEY.

What do you do?

You use the KEY on the MANACLE, and it comes off easily. You are now free to roam around the room.

You LOOK at the ROOM. It is rather plain, with the BRONZE DOOR to the south. Along the walls are a PILE OF COAL, a BOILER, a FURNACE, and a WELL. On top of the FURNACE is a TINDERBOX and a BOX OF MATCHES. Next to the WELL is a WATER BUCKET, and a LOG. On the floor in front of you is a CANDLE. There is also a DOOR to the NORTH, but the room beyond is too dark to see in.

You grab both the TINDERBOX and the CANDLE. You have a feeling they will be useful.
You see nothing down the WELL. Except for water of course. It is just a well with a winch for lowering a bucket.

You light the candle with the tinderbox. You look at the FURNACE. There's some ash left in the hatch where fuel goes, but it looks very clean otherwise. Using your candle to light the way, you enter the room to the north.

Normally I would stop you from doing this because you are in the wrong room, but this first time I will assume you also said GO SOUTH. Also, you have to have picked up an item before you can USE it, but again, I will skip that while your inventory is not full.

You pick up the BUCKET and draw water from the WELL. You look at the BOILER. It is empty, but looks sound, without any obvious signs of damage.
