You and your party enter the cave. The inside of the cavern is littered with white fragments of bones and the walls bear large, gaping craters.

Everyone snaps to attention when a sliding sound is heard far in front of you. A large dragon slowly steps into view, scales with patterns of white and black. The beast looks at you with crystal blue eyes before a low rumbling shakes the cave.

"Look! The creatures that visit today! Come to destroy Viola, do they? She who exists to right the wrong? To balance the scales with a battle-song..."

The dragon roars, a blast of air that throws the dead bodies of previous fighters out of the cave and a tremor that makes rocks above fall to the ground.

"FOOLS YOU ARE! FLEE NOW OR DIE!"

You leap behind the base of a large stalagmite and peak around to see the others. Everyone spreads out and ducks behind covered locations.

"I DON'T THINK THAT'S A SHE!"

The grey-cloaked mage dashes out of cover for a split second and hurls a fast moving object towards Bayir before diving behind a rock.

A metal flechette bounces off of the dragon's scales, and the beast swipes its tail along a row of rocks. The screams and shouting of men are heard.

"HOW DO WE KILL THIS THING!?"

In the dim light of the cave, you see that the black and white dragon is about 50 feet long from snout to tail.

> You slowly trudge over to another field, this one with a rack of weapons nearby and several soldiers sparring.

"No break? I like your determination! Hey Charles, I'm going to grab this guy his paper work, you get him started."
"Aight. Listen up recruit, the first thing you gotta learn to use is a halberd."

The soldier walks over to the weapons rack and grabs a six-foot pole with an axe-like head. On top of the axe is a single metal spike around a foot in length, and a shorter spike on the back of the axe-head.

"The halberd is a cheap, well-rounded weapon. This guy is good at holding back calvery charges and standard head-on fighting, so learn to use it. The spike on the back of the weapon is for pulling riders off of horses or pulling at soldier's legs to trip them. Be creative with it."

Lifting the halberd up, you see a metal cap on the bottom.

"Use the butt of the halberd to knock away a foe who gets too close. It's heavy and gonna give that bastard one helluva headache."

The soldier hands you a halberd and takes another one for himself.

"Okay recruit, time to get training! Hold the halberd with two hands, some space in between them."

You hold the weapon properly and the soldier starts sparring with you. Your swings are slow and jabs easily dodged, probably because you didn't take a break.

"Alright recruit, you should probably take a break. In a battle, you gotta learn to pace yourself or you'll wear out faster than a longsword bangin' on rocks."

The other soldier comes over with a paper and pen in his hands.

"Hey recruit, what's yer name?"
