"Thank ye." Gillian says, shaking himself a bit. He must still be suffering some effects from that bite.
"Egh...no proableym." You say as you spit out the last of the poison. But there are other things to deal with. Now Adam needs saving.
You make a quick run over to the snake that is holding him, pull back an arm and swing for its head. (2 v. 4) It leans its head to the side, avoiding your attack, and slams you aside with its entire body, knocking you to the ground beside Adam, who is now trying to saw his way out of the bind.

You remain between the snake and your friends like your life depends on it. Every move that it makes, you are there, standing in the way. It seems rather unsettled by this, and you see a look of confusion in its eyes (if you can see any emotion at all). It then decides to stay perfectly still. What, is it giving up? You're more confused than it, by a longshot.
Then something happens. The snake mimics the movment you made - turning its head to the side in bafflement.

Is it... copying you?

You stay very, very still, in an effort to keep your wounds from reopening. The remaining venom makes you kind of dizzy, which leads to you taking a nap on the ground, drifting in and out of sleep periodically. It may not be a very good rest, but you feel much better after a while.

You charge with courage you didn't know you had, aiming directly for the snake that is holding Adam hostage. You take a mighty swing of your hammer... (6 v. 1) and the snake takes it, full on the head. As it falls to the floor, you can see a dent where its skull was jammed into its brain. Adam still seems to be trying to slice the tail off.
"Adam... it's dead."
He looks up and sees the snake's limp body.
"Oh. Right."

Then you hear a voice.

You look up and see the snake on the ground.
"Oh. Right." You get up, unhidered by the dead weight of the snake's tail.

The battle seems to be over, but then everyone realizes something.

Where was Gabriel that ENTIRE TIME?
Their questions are answered when he bursts from the stairs, holding something in his hand.

"Sorry, guys. I forgot something, and I figured you all could handle a bunch of snakes." He smirks. This kid has some attitude behind that unkempt mop of hair.

He opens his tightly closed fist for a second, and the party sees a very familiar white glow.

That which you acquired from you last battle was only a small sample of the power of the Gods. This Glyph that you see before you is the same, yet use it not as you would without my guidance.

For these two Glyphs that you have seen are but the Minor Glyphs. They carry the same power, only halved. If you wish, you may use this second to amplify your ability to the power of the greater, or Major Glyphs. You may prefer to do this, and gain one potent skill, rather than gain two that are of lesser strength.

But I am not here to alter your decision. Only here to give you what information you need.


And then it is gone.
