Eh, performance is still crummy.

Hmmn, I'm getting that here too, now <_< I'll try and fix it again, but I might just end up shrinking the level a little to cull the amount of updates needed.

The gun is pretty bugged, it keeps reloading after it finishes reloading.

Really? Sure you're not out of bullets? I need to make a sign for that, but I've just uploaded a version without the lag. I'm getting 15-17fps again, huzzah. Looks like a little bug snuck in at the last minute, but I ended up ditching a whole system to see what the lag was like without it and lo and behold we have speed, and a more responsive if stressful support system. You might want to lay some supports if you're tunnelling through a hill with a lot of dirt above you now.

Liking how the supports actually work geti I'll post a pic of my constructions later. But for now I think I found a bug: when I hold down the right arrow to fun then release the character keeps on moving right (after a released the button of course).

If you're describing what I think you are that's simply your momentum carrying you forward a little.

UPDATE
2 new tiles added for you building enthusiasts, a wall piece and a roofing piece. Something weird is going on with the walls which I'll look into tomorrow before I go off and do other stuff, but for now don't try and hook them up to stuff sideways, they're not intended to work that way and it might cause bad things to happen.

There's also a -NO AMMO- indicator for those who were confused by the perpetual reload of doom.

Eh, I still can't build anything proper. Anything above six blocks or so from the ground grumbles automagically.

Also, now that we have supports, perhaps weaken the terrain a bit, making digging tunnels more interesting.

Oh, and a tile suggestion: wooden wall background.

I'd like to suggest a button that toggles between the wooden tiles we have right now, and stronger-material tiles. For instance, the wall and roof would be stone, and the crates, platform/floor, and supports metal. They'd just be stronger versions of current building materials, and I'm sure in the full game they'd be expensive to make, but necessary for large-scale structures.

Post Re: Prelude: A Side Scrollin' Zombie Fort Game
There are going to be stone building blocks, but considering I don't even have material items yet it'd probably be better to work on that than just sprite more tiles. I haven't extended building blocks from tile yet, so the foreground tile data string is now just under 500 characters of comma and space separated numbers.
I'll do a background wall tile soon though, findude, thanks for reminding me.
Terrain has been weakened a little, I might make it more dramatic though. It's noticeable when digging through hills, but not so much with cliffs and the like.

Goddamnit, there was a massive bug blocking the game <_<
That's fixed now. Sorry for the delay on everything, I've been caught up in coding the blog and personal stuff yesterday.

Made some progress on getting a custom forum up. I'll update this with new tiles and maybe some new plants tomorrow, and iron out a few bugs but I ran out of time again (it's 0120 <_<)
