Yeah, sheesh. Like kids even older than me not understanding that as an object is heated it gains mass. Or that a car gets longer and shorter as it moves. Or how a space-time sphere would allow all the galaxies in the universe to be moving away from us without us being the center of it.

Matter, according to relativity, is condensed mass. Extra energy equals extra mass.
Well not exactly, but to get a better description would take a little bit more time.
Also, boiling isn't nearly enough energy to register a noticeable effect.

Boiling water is a very good example. A cup of water in a small pot won't go over the sides of it until it's boiling.

Doesn't mean its mass increased though. Just means that the molecules have entered an excited state and are disturbing surrounding molecules still lacking the energy to transition to a gas.

An example, not a recreation.

But boiling water is in no way analogous to the increase in mass due to relativity and the equivalence of matter and energy.

You know what's a real ♥♥♥♥? If you put a thermometer in the middle of that pot of boiling water, so that it doesn't touch the bottom and as few of the bubbles, it will stay at exactly 100'C until it touches the bottom or the water boils away.
