Post City Background
Hey all,
I am in search of a good city background for a scene - any recommendations?

EDIT: Also, I could use some background bits of buildings (intact preferred, destroyed would work as well though) and whatnot if any exist. I'd rather skip the step of making my own if possible :)

Hmm - thats a nice map, but not what I was looking for. I suppose I was looking for something closer categorized as a town background :)

Perhaps I'll do some meandering around the interwebs to see what I can find.

None of those really work either - I think I've got a solution, it's pretty humorous, but I think it'll work just fine.

Ok - so when making a new background bit, in this case, a building front, are there limitations to the colors you can use from the 24 bit palette?

Whenever I boot them game, I go into the scenario editor to test out this bit, the preview portrait looks like a bunch of verticle dark blue/black lines and the game errors out as soon as I click on it.

My files are as follows:
Building1BG.bmp - has the image of the building, sky is pink'd out.
Building1FG.bmp - completely pink'd out
Building1Mat.bmp - has the silhouette of the building dark pink filled and light pink'd the sky

From what I can see, my objects.ini is ok as well...
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
//Background Buildings
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
AddTerrainObject = TerrainObject
PresetName = Background Building 1
AddToGroup = MP3 Scenery
GoldCost = 0
FGColorFile = ContentFile
Path = Maps - Objects/Building1FG.bmp
MaterialFile = ContentFile
Path = Maps - Objects/Building1Mat.bmp
BGColorFile = ContentFile
Path = Maps - Objects/Building1BG.bmp

Any suggestions about whatever the simple thing I'm completely missing here is?

The only things that are allowed to be out of palette are Glows. BunkerModule materials files and scene bmps have a special palette of their own, and everything else goes by the regular palette.

Is there any chance I can get ahold of that special palette? I would be greatly appreciative, as would the rest of the community when my campaign is released :)

I have it for Gimp, or you can just extract it from any materials file.
