 Re: Left 4 Dead
Rail shooter? IF Left 4 Dead is a rail shooter, then you must think almost EVERY FPS is a rail shooter.

 Re: Left 4 Dead
Demo wasn't bad, I'll probably be getting it, as will my housemates.

 Re: Left 4 Dead
Downloading the demo now, but apparently my crappy graphics card (VIA/S3G Unichrome IGP) is so ghetto it's not even in the Steam database, so I'm worried it might not run D: Hopefully if it does, I'll buy the full version.

Shame my peasant friends can't afford a good PC, or know a good game when it did a ♥♥♥♥ in their mouths. Granted I can't afford a PC too, but I'm saving!

 Re: Left 4 Dead
Good? Good is not required. I can play it on medium with no lag and to build a computer as good as mine all you need is $500.

 Re: Left 4 Dead
I currently run it on 1440x900 with max settings and it works just fine, and I'd consider my laptop to be mid-range. Honestly, I've always found Source games to be remarkably friendly on computers.

 Re: Left 4 Dead
I literally can't run Crysis on my computer and have it be playable. It's at lowest resolution locked at lowest settings and I get 15 fps when nothing is going on, and everything looks horrible. Yeah, L4D looks worse than Crysis when you compare them on the same settings (med. vs med., high vs. high), but L4D is far more accessible than Crysis to most gamers because the computer requirements are so much lower. I like the Source engine because it has a wonderful blend of both looking good and running well on relatively low-end computers.
I like Stardock's ideas more and more these days.

 Re: Left 4 Dead
Ironic my computer can't max out TF2 or Left 4 Dead, but I can play Crysis with everything on Medium and physics on high.

When I say good, I mean one that can play The Sims 1 on low settings. Also I need about £400 to get a PC that could play Crysis at fairly high settings, and my bro is willing to lend me £100. And I will have about £90 pounds soon (assuming my brother pays his debts).
