No, it "practicaly" won't. Data said it will compliment the same variable based system we are using now. The Mind wrote: Did you just say that.................... Did you not ever hear about LUA being in future CC builds?? DEV-Log? And if you ever read the "DEV-Log" you would already know.

It's Lua, not LUA.
It's not an acronym, Christ.

It's not an acronym, Christ. Even if it isn't an acronym, does it really matter if it's Lua instead of LUA?

Re: LUA
Hmm, it'd be funny if the CC moon were named Lua. Becuase Lua will become pretty important in CC, and it's name means moon.
Anyways, the scripting should allow for huge possibilities in modding, and I can very easily see the engine being used now to make complete other games. I'm thinking of the concepts for one myself, but I'll almost certainly never finish it.

Lua.org About site wrote: Please do not write it as "LUA", which is both ugly and confusing, because then it becomes an acronym with different meanings for different people. So, please, write "Lua" right! Well, what exactly will Lua do that regular INI coding can't do?

Just adding a simple if statement unlocks vast opportunities for modders.

Re: Lua
Lua will, for one, enable you to declare flexible variables, and do logical arguments. In other words, I can make a script that says that:
if <something happens> then <something happens> but if <nothing happens> then <something else happens>
That, along with triggers, which enable a modder to (shocking) trigger an event, action, or movement based on something else, true ingame logic, checking, and flexible modification of normally hardcoded variables while in-game promises some very unique modding possibilities.
When you get right down to it, really, damn near anything is possible in Lua.
Data himself said on IRC a few weeks ago that, and I quote "Lua is just so goddamn powerful".
