Rumble - The game of superheroic combat
I decided we have too many of the same random-number-oriented forum games, so decided to look for a new one. I came across this, and thought it could be quite good fun.
The premise:In Rumble, all the players are fighting each other. Why, you ask? Who cares. You just are. The goal is to destroy all of the other players, don't worry about your motives. You're superheroes, you can do whatever you want.
Character design:All characters are designed
here. How you design your character will not affect the game, but will show the others how you think you look.
The basics:Energy, Attack, Defence and Super Powers:Superheroes have only one stat, their lifeforce, or
Energy. All players start with 100, and you die when it gets to zero.
Energy is also how you choose your techniques per turn, to
Attack,
Defence and
Super Powers.
Super Powers are allocated through a PM bidding system using
Energy as spending money. The trick is to get what you think is the best
Super Powers without losing all of your
Energy before the game even starts.
Allocation phase:This is the main aspect of the game from a player's point of view, and will be done via PM. You will send me a PM with your name, your character's name and your techniques, eg:
Quote:
DRL Name: Roast Veg
Hero Name: Biggus Dickus
Attacking: Diggus Bickus
Super Powers: Regeneration [+3 Energy each turn]
Energy: 80
Attack: 50
Defence: 30
Resolution phase:This is the main bit for the gamemaster. I will compile all of your actions and make a story out of them, taking into account your super powers and such, then posting it here for all to see.
Quote:
Biggus Dickus 80: You launch a 50 Attack on Diggus Bickus, and his Defence of 40 means he loses 10 Energy. You also recieve an Attack of 25 from Diggus Bickus, but your Defence of 30 blocks it completely. You receive +3 Energy from your Super Powers. You now have 83.
And so...If you got all that, post your character sheets and two
Super Powers you would like to see in the game. Remember, you might not get them if you don't bid high enough later.
