Dov, rather than just exiting the ship and leaving it to fall or having someone else take over, brings the boat up and sets it down on the deck of the cargo ship. Several crewmembers groan as they see just how despairingly small the rescue vessel is. It can barely carry those people, let alone rescue anyone. The merchant leads Dov and Ernest to the captain's cabin to talk, while Markus and Arthur stay with the boat.

"First, thank you again for coming to our aid.

You... think someone I trust has betrayed me. I don't want to believe this, but the fact of the matter is that I see no other alternative.
