The "Lodged" damage reduction is more that you have to pull the lance out of the enemy,
[can't really charge with the weight of an enemy mech stuck on your lance, and your lance isn't really sticking out the back of the enemy enough to be viable to attack with.] so can't get as good a striking pose/etc. in the space of the turn with that restriction, probably should have been more clear there.
On the plus side, smaller enemies, like the Egret will not cause your lance to get lodged, they are more fragile/smaller so fall off the lance with little/no effort.
