Are we only allowed to refund items we have bought ourselves, or can we sell looted items as well?
Also, is the Silver Bullet Gauss Rifle a one-shot, long reload type of weapon?

Swap the minigun for the linked capacitor PPC and upgrade the medium force barrier to the heavy force barrier.

That should use all eight points. The minigun didn't seem to fare too well against the heavier armour of those bots. Unless we are gonna be dealing with a ton of weak units I don't see a use for it right now.

If the PPC is the same as the one from MechWarrior though, I'm in luck. What kind of damage are we talking about per shot and what kind of damage can the heavy barrier resist? Also, what do the different types of shield resist?

You're only allowed to refund items you bought yourselves, not looted items.
The silver Bullet Gauss rifle has a small magazine and a rather long reload.

The PPCs are high power energy cannons, but suffer damage reduction at close range.
Force Barriers bring up an energy field that conforms to your body that can stop non-psychic attacks of all types, higher rank ones create tougher barriers that also cost less energy% to create. [the medium one could completely negate the impact from a 1-2 ton metal hammer being slammed down on it and only then break]
Static Field Projectors shoot out arcs of energy that intercept incoming non-psychic projectiles, medium and upwards will also shock some approaching hostiles.
Nullifiers stop psychic attacks and anything that is psychic that gets near to them gets ♥♥♥♥ up.

1: plating is slightly superior against melee attacks, and also has limited automatic bleed stoppage
2: you could buy a boatload of guns, but then you'd be weighed down and move slower/etc.
3: each item/ability draws from its own energy pool, so yes
