War Thunder is an MMO Combat game dedicated to the most pivotal World War II and Korean War battles. In particular, War Thunder lets players take part in massive multiplayer aerial combat, fighting alongside real players all over the world. The game's major battles will be set during the period from 1939 to 1953. It shares many similarities with World of Tanks and the upcoming World of Warplanes, except the developer's goal set to having tanks, planes and warships playable in the same fights. Currently, though, there's only planes, some 200 of them. Tech-tree progression is very similar to World of Tanks: you gain experience and money by doing well in battles, and use them to unlock new planes and loadouts. You can also complete challenges to unlock different paintjobs and decals for your planes. The matchmaking system has 3 different realism settings: Arcade battles are, well, arcade-y. There's still modular damage and flaps n ♥♥♥♥. Historical Battles are very much like Arcade battles, but stalls and spins are added in to the mix. Full Real battles have all the game's realism settings turned on, and you can't use mouse aim to control your plane. Joysticks recommended. Of course, there's singleplayer and coop missions too: custom missions, dynamic campaigns and tutorials. So yeah. Gather your equipment, gents, and get ready to take off! My in-game nick is Natti. Add me for some squad flying. |

This looks like something I'd enjoy once they introduce tank combat, and possibly lower the specs some. For now I'll stick to WoT. |

Miggles wrote: So it's like WoT with planes Like WoWP ok But better I never really got into WoWP but War Thunder seems better objective wise and definitely looks nicer Also there are effects like blood rushing to your head or whatever during a steep dive which impairs your vision |

Redouts, blackouts, spins and stalls, wings snapping off at high speeds because of stress, all kinds of fancy things |

So far I'm Rank 6 for americans, rank 5 for germans, brits and the reds and rank 3 for japs. The Spitfire Mk1 is so good in turning fights. By far my favourite plane. |

Sorry for the double post, but while spectating in a Historical Battle after being shot down, I saw this guy who had landed with half his wing missing and managed to taxi back to the airfield for repairs. |
