From the makers of Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander, and from the studio that made Monday Night Combat, I bring you Planetary Annihilation:
A spiritual successor of a spiritual successor, Planetary Annihilation is set in a galaxy where only endlessly replicating warmachines fight on, their masters long extinct.
WHY THE ♥♥♥♥ SHOULD I CARE ABOUT THIS? If you like RTS's, you clearly didn't watch the trailer. If you don't, watch it anyway, and watch as your mind is changed. This RTs will feature inter-planetary warfare, with battles set in systems. You can fight over many different giant planets or tiny, lifeless rocks. This will feature an epic physics engine, so you can build engines on asteroids and hurl them at your enemy. As one dev said, "We're not shooting for realism, we're shooting for AWESOME!"
I'M THROWING MONEY AT MY SCREEN BUT NOTHING COMES OUT! This is currently in fund-gathering mode. It has a 900,000 dollar goal on Kickstarter, and only 365,00 has been pledged as of this writing, and it has 28 more days to go. I've been spreading this around wherever I can. Here are the links:

One step ahead of you, already backed it with $20.50
Are you sure it's from the guys who made SupCom?

Wait what, why the 50c? The only thing I'm bummed about id the fact that to get it as early as possible you need to pay $100, not counting the $5 off early thing.

Re: Planetary Annihilation
I would have just given them $20, but what's the crime in donating an extra fifty cents?

Not from all of them, but I can guarantee you it has a couple who have worked on SupCom and/or Total Annihilation - just watch the full pitch trailer, one of the guys there worked on TA's engine.
You also ought to recognize the narrator from the beginning of the trailer as the original TA narrator, John Patrick Lowrie, also known as The Sniper for those TF2 fans out there.
Oh man, I just watched the trailer out of boredom because I don't really like RTS games BUT the trailer made me cream myself, this needs to get Kickstarted Once I saw that you could launch asteroids at planets and have fairly realistic space travel, I knew it was a keeper

Agreed.
Also, I'm a great fan of the Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander series, so I bet this is gonna be awesome. So far, the only thing I haven't liked much is the cartoony graphics, but else, it looks very innovative.

I feel like I should've donated more than $15. Can't wait for this game.

Actually, the graphics make me think of playing with toys and what sort of crazy stuff you might do when you played, such as throwing asteroids into the planet.

I like the cartoony graphics. It has style.
Still can't be completely sure what the final art will look like, I'd think.
