HTML roguelike with crafting and some terrain manipulation. It's still in alpha (whatever the ♥♥♥♥ that means nowadays) and is I believe only a couple months old but is definitely playable and a lot of fun.
I really recommend you go in without knowing anything, as that's how you have the most fun, so I'll spoiler 'advanced' discussion.
Spears. Aside from golden swords they are the best weapons in the game as far as I can tell. Easy to make, high damage, and can be used for fishing. I generally make two right away. Axes are also good as a backup weapon as they can make treecutting go a lot quicker.
Has anyone figured out any armour besides skullcaps and bark stuff? I can't for the life of me figure out how to get necklaces or shoes. You can make cloth using like 600 pieces of string but I really didn't want to put the time into figuring out what to do with that as you would probably need several pieces of cloth to make stuff.
Ended up starving to death after many failed attempts to fish. This is fun.

Re: Wayward
Started the game for the first time.
On a ♥♥♥♥ desert island. I have a ton of sandstone, and thanks to a single tree, I now have three trees though the power of magic. Also, ♥♥♥♥ night time.
EDIT : Yeah, ♥♥♥♥ night time. Way too many enemies to hold off with a spear, especially once there are for imps ready to smash you down for sport.
Well I survived a night by making a tree fortress, eating tree fungi and using fires as doors, but I didn't expect the zombies to stay into the next morning, so when I needed to go out for stones a combination of them and wolves killed me good and proper.

Re: Wayward
What quality spears have you guys made? I've only ever accomplished a normal spear, IE the ones giving you 5(6?)+ extra attack.

Made an account just to say how ridiculously fun this game is, to thank Contrary for bringing it to my attention and to tell you all a tip, to survive the night make yourself a small island with at least 1 tile of deep water all around because enemies cannot swim. Also this was my latest attempt.
Glad you had fun; make sure to send some nice words to the developer.
Yeah that's what I did for the game I screenshot'd. I made several small sanctuaries around this resource heavy island and outfitted them with some trees and campfires. I also recommend stocking up on redundant spears and carrying an extra bedroll. Kind of a lame strategy though, I was hoping someone here could come up with something better. It's also feasible to abuse the pathing behaviour and trap enemies in mazes, but that's only slightly less lame and doesn't work half as well.
How did you make those black blocks btw? I've seen them before but they weren't minable afaik. Is it made from charcoal or something? The only use I could fine for that was to grind it into ash and mix it with some peat and something else to make fertilizer.

Re: Wayward
Black blocks are cobblestone tiles IIRC. Just combine lots of stones

Re: Wayward
Locked myself into a forest/mountain range. I think I juked all the enemies into getting stuck along the coast, so fish and fungi keep me alive. I've made fire, but I can't work out how to smelt my iron. I have iron, rocks, tree stuff, dirt and beach. And snow, but I need to carve the mountain with my fists first.

Re: Wayward
I'm a lucky ♥♥♥♥♥, seeing as I started on an island right next to a cobblestone hut and everything I needed nearby.
I made a little base and started camping out, all the while discovering... that nothing seemed to be able to discover me. It was then that I noticed this.
A little monster traffic jam. I immediately set out on a quest to vanquish these beasts, as fast as I could. Shall we say, I intended to vanquick them.
I skirted the coast to the south side of the island and ambushed them there.
I led them to the coast and bottlenecked them so I could face them one at a time, but there were too many.
I barely escaped with my life, with a wolf... erm... tailing me, as it were.
I'm still playing this character now, I'll post more if I have any other little stories of interest.
