So Frozen Synapse is this indie game that came out recently. It features "simultaneous turn-based strategy", which just means that two players plan out their turns, and then they're executed at the same time. You're basically trying to doublethink your opponent.
Anyways. I just recently purchased it on Steam, and I got a free copy, which I may or may not use on someone from DRL who seems chill enough to play this with.
Actually, I think it's $25 for one game, and after you purchase that, you can get a second one for free.

Sure, you can call one of them free, but that doesn't change the fact that the transaction is 25$ dollars to get two copies.

I think the intention is that you give the second copy to a friend in order to ensure you have someone to play with who isn't a total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
I just think of it as a twenty five dollar price point, which isn't outrageous, or two games for 12.50, which is an even better price.

Is it as good as people say? I thought the trailers looked pretty awesome, but with no demo, it becomes really hard to judge.
Alas, lack of financial means impedes me from buying this. I think I would if I could, tho, if Grif say's it's good then I'm not one to question it.

It is very good. One of the pros of the multiplayer is that you can have multiple games on the go, so you are never just sat there waiting. The matchmaking places you in a game within seconds of activating it, normally.
As you are fighting an enemy that begins as powerful as you, it is down to cover, timing, and being prepared that you might win.
I would recommend a purchase to anyone who owns a PC and two brain cells to rub together. For a very simple premise, it is executed near-flawlessly, with a nice graphical style to match it.

Agreeing with Barnox here. I'm still pretty crap at it, but it's superbly well polished, I have to say.

Re: Frozen Synapse
I like playing gimmick matches with a friend. Like 5 snipers vs 1 machine gun, 1 shotgun, 1 rocket and 1 grenade on the zone defence thing, or grenades only. The custom match thing is really quite fun. Never play rockets only though, because once you run out of walls the match is unwinnable by either side.
Nonono, see, I was trying to AVOID spamming Grif's perfectly respectable thread with requests for free copies. Of course I wanted one, but the whole idea is not to start a "yea i want a free copy of this game too" thread.
