Castle Story is an upcoming indie game developed by Sauropod Studios, 3 guys somewhere in Montreal. Have a video:

Castle Story is a creative voxel-based strategy game in which you can build castles one brick at a time using an army of little characters called Bricktrons.
Your goal will be to explore a vast landscape full of mysteries and dangers, and defend your castle against onslaughts of hostile creatures and possibly other players.
The world of Castle Story takes place on flying islands, high above an infinite ocean. The islands are made of voxels, cubes made of various elements, which means you can dig, carve and build anything you can imagine in the landscape. Digging underground to gather resources, stacking bricks on top of each other to build a wall or even tunnelling through a mountain is all possible and even necessary to keep your Bricktrons safe.
Carefully designing your castle not only requires creativity and imagination, but thanks to pathfinding AI and physics simulations, Castle Story has layers of strategy and depth on top of an otherwise free-form sandbox experience.
Castle Story will be released for Windows & Mac (with possible Linux support once Unity4 is released).
I remember finding out about that a few months ago. It seems like a 3D version of Dwarf Fortress. The sky island part is what I like the best. Building bridges to get to other areas would be fun.

I think it's looks OK, but I would only be really interested if it WAS 3D dorf fort. Currently you just have dudes build stuff and fight stuff, doesn't look that great.
It's the exploration that interests me. Dwarf Fortress limited me to a restrained section of land, for understandable reasons. Generating more content than needed would lag the game. But I was never able to send a group of dwarves out on an expedition to far away lands.

That is a planned feature however, Harzipan. ToadyOne just hasn't gotten around to implementing it yet. He is making dwarf fortress one major feature at a time instead of halfassedly implementing all his dream features. Check out his goal and power goal log.
I haven't checked out the development page in awhile. Was it recently added?

To be honest, I am not sure what development branch he is on at the moment. Last time I checked they were doing diseases and randomly generated demons or something.
