Re: Game Music
I just beat TWEWY last week, and it's the first game that's made me want to play post-game content. Mostly because the ending didn't explain goddamn ANYTHING.

GOOD SIR, i agree wholeheartedly! One of the many things i love about the Serious Sam series is the through-and-through awesome soundtrack. Especially the boss-fights and final levels. Serious Sam 3 is no exception to this.
And let's not forget the theme song!
Not super keen on the growly vocals (there is also a version without vocals), but hell if the rest isn't the best theme i've heard so far in the series. Especially when it plays during the ending credits, gatdayum. Probably not your cup of tea if you're not into metal, but hey, you gotta give them props for it. Not many FPS games venture that far into the genre.

Re: Game Music
That first one you linked, Shook, sounds a lot like a remake of some old First Encounter track. Gonna try to find the right piece now. EDIT: Yeah it sounds like the dunes_medium from the First Encounter's soundtrack. A lot.
Not surprising, since it's a remix of it. And by all that's holy, it WORKS. SO ♥♥♥♥ WELL. After having gone through the orchestral/rock music that is the 1700 (approximately) enemies before the final boss, you expect to be hit with the usual boss metal, and then some. Although that definitely wouldn't have been off either, this music is basically perfect for the purpose of being THÉ craziest boss fight in the entire series, and that's saying something. Ugh-Zan III is a pansy by comparison. Also, here's the track Natti is talking about.
Very obvious similarities, including the fact that it's awesome.

Re: Game Music
Dynasty warriors, Samurai warriors, Orochi warriors, hell anything Koei makes. While the games itself may... not please everyone, The music however can.
Dynasty Warriors
(also the one of the themes in DW2)
Samurai Warriors
Orochi Warriors
Of course i'm forgetting Lu Bu's theme, Takatatsu Honda theme and Orochi's final boss theme but really, they're not really needed to express how awesome the music koei does.

Re: Game Music
I have a feeling people only go on about Beyond Good and Evil (and Psychonauts) as "underrated classics" precisely because they were unpopular, I found neither of them particularly charming I mean they weren't bad but they weren't AAA material or anything The music is alright though

Re: Game Music
Psychonauts was the last game I know of that was really funny without trying too hard, like half the games in the N64 era managed to be.
