Re: King Arthur's Gold - A 2D Minecraft-like
Regarding arial assaults, I'd like to see ladders need some sort of support every few blocks. But not so much as you can't build scaffolding to build castles. Also, is anyone else not getting a server list?

Re: King Arthur's Gold - A 2D Minecraft-like
Hi everybody, I made this game with Geti. Glad you like it. I'm gonna answer any concerns you have, also feel free to ask about the game. Quote: The game screwed up my comp's video when I tried to exit without crashing the game, Anyone else? Quote: why not suggest that they make surrounding stone blocks stronger or something? I thought of the same and am planning to do that. Background stone will reinforce the castle walls, because right now it is just ornamentation. Quote: Any plan on adding functioning constructables? Siege engines, cannons - some sort of long range artillery. Cannons, no. But catapults, siege machines, drawing bridges. Quote: What would case 2fps and crazy lag? Install new video driviers? Quote: Can you also ask your coder to have options for lower y resolutions? I'd rather not have to have it in full screen all the time. You can customize the resolution in the config file: KAG/Bin/Scripts/autoconfig.gm global v_width = 1024; global v_height = 768; Quote: Also, how come on the official server there's no falling damage, but I can't fall several blocks without dying when playing with my own maps? The official server uses a slightly different config. Quote: Looks like the masterserver might be down, hopefully it's back up within a few hours Sorry it went down for a couple hours. It is running again. So let's play!

Dedicated servers are supported! On Windows just start the dedicatedserver.bat file in the KAG folder. Linux server is also available, I just need to wrap it up and release. Please reply if you can host a server.

Is the official server down? Also, in case you didn't know, the server name can be changed in the autoconfig file Kingarthur mentioned earlier. If fact there's a few things you can fiddle with in there.

The official server is up and down. There was a crash lately. Now people are playing. Quote: How much bandwith is required per person? I have a windows server sitting idle but have a 1Mb/s cap. I don't know really know how much it will take, but from what I see it takes 0.5-1.5kb per second for a player. Just put it up and see how it will look. It's part of the testing. I posted a dedicated server guide on my blog.

I don't remember which came first, the broken KAG or the running of make-version.bat. Maybe that has something to do with it?
I tried running gravity garden a while ago too. Maybe somehow my C++ got borked magically.

So Darkdoom is wholly convinced I'm cheating. I guess that means I must be doing something right.

Re: King Arthur's Gold - A 2D Minecraft-like
@MLC That doesn't make much sense, the language is simply compiled to an executable anyway (that and C++ was used to make almost all of windows) @Duh sounds like hosting shouldn't eat much of that bandwidth DRLFF server plz? I think dragonxp is also keen to host. Darkdoom is convinced everyone's cheating.

Good game. Maybe a bit too much FSE(funky ♥♥♥♥ events)/m, but it's getting there.

I tried hosting, seems my router won't let more than one player in. Sorry chaps.

Really nice work. I like the sprites. But some parts are still a bit confusing. Of course, I know the game is not done yet.

Contrary wrote: So Darkdoom is wholly convinced I'm cheating. I guess that means I must be doing something right. exploiting glitches, imo, is cheating... anyway ontopic... I love this game! It is very, very addicting. Not all of it makes sense, but that is normal for an alpha. Do you plan on ever making it cost money? Like when it becomes a full fledged game?
