To be honest people saying "well that's just your opinion" has always seemed sort of lame to me
Yeah you're allowed to have your opinion, doesn't mean it's the right one or that I am not allowed to tell you I think you are being massively unfair to a company that has made you a game you have enjoyed for three years
Valve aren't a charity you know, almost nobody does not already own TF2 so they are losing few sales by making it free and people who get it free are more likely to use their cash shop

I think the complaint was that any single Mann Store purchase upgrades you to a premium account
That said, the minimum you can add to your account is $5 and Steam holds so many sales TF2 has cost about that more often than not

Apparently (in their FAQ) you can buy ANY item from the Mann. Co Store and be upgraded to a Premium account. And the only thing that previously paying players get (apart from a larger inventory, unobstructed crafting and gifting) is a hat.

A goddamn hat.

Yeah I know how much TF2-Valve loves their hats but that's just bull♥♥♥♥. At least, y'know, give the Premiums a little more? Like, VIP-only access to community stuff? Or certain gametypes? I dunno, it just doesn't seem enough to me.

And for the record I bought it in the Orange Box about 3 years ago.

No I'm not happy.

I feel the same way. WOOT BOOSTED INVENTORYowait we don't exactly need it anyways. It's dissapointing. Whatever.

I have no clue what you mean by "got it good". We can give items away, and craft a few extra things. Notice how they don't speicfy how many extra items. Vague and unknowing. Backpack space isn't even useful. Get all the items you need in like ten squares.

Backpack space is handy if you don't want to throw stuff away.

But like what is there to hoard? And for what reason?

Hahaha, I love the sense of self-entitlement so many people have. Just because you bought the game before, doesn't mean you should get anything special. Okay, what would sate you? What do you think you SHOULD have gotten for being so awesome and buying the game for $10 or less, about how much an average hat or item from the Mann-Co store costs?

The cheapest hat I've seen was 50c.

It's impossible to add money to your Steam purse to buy hats in sums of less than $5

And if we got it at full price?

I don't feel like I'm entitled to anything, I'm just pissed off that my money was a complete waste, ESPEICALLY if I'd bought a bunch of cool stuff from the store.

There are more than 50 weapons in the game.

Would you be similarly annoyed if you bought a movie only to notice it is playing in worse quality on TV?

You paid full price to play 3-4 years in advance to everyone else, congrats. The free release is a result of your dedicated playing of TF2, thank you.

But the free TF2 isn't worse than the Paid TF2. You can't give away or craft, but I found I never used these features anyways. I could be Atypical.

Oh well. Tin hat is acceptable. I'm less grumpy now. At least I can have teammates.

I refuse to talk to anyone who doesn't have this installed on their computer now.
