Check base.rte/settings.ini and see if fullscreen is set to 0, then try setting it to 1 and see if it fixes itself.

Check your graphics drivers, maybe?

CC doesn't run with that error? Huh, it usually still works when i get it.
Try setting the resolution in settings.ini to 800x600. Failing that, try 640x480.

Oh and just a clarification, my B24 was running flawlessly before, but I made a fresh new installation due to old mods messing up some activities and now it's giving me this.

i get that error every time i run the game, it does not effect my game any.
Just click ok go into game and change resolution to how you like it, then reload it and itll work fine, allthough youll still get the error.

I believe it's due to the game trying to set itself to an unsupported resolution.

Your Graphics Drivers define a list of supported resolutions though. A fresh installation shouldn't cause this issue.

My settings.ini is wonky sometimes. I change a var in there, and the game changes it back. That I solve by setting the variable to the one I want, saving it, and then making it "Read-Only" so the game can't modify it.

Hello to you all.

Same thing here :-(

Im running the game on a window 7 OS.
on a brand new EEE 1015PEM, resolution 1024x600 [assigned mode]
This should be a resolution which is supported.

Cortex Command is purchased via the Humble India Bundle II. The game gives me the error message[seel above] then shifts to standard VGA
When i put it in full screen it blinks then crashes!

any suggestions?

------------------------------
Edit: I have found what did not work properly. I used window's 'ReadyBoost" This is a way to expand your memory by using USB or SD card. Obviously it delivers problems if internal memory is being used by a graphics card [ATI in my specific case]. I did remove the SD card which i used and rebooted. Now i can play CC . life is beautifull and has only cristal clear blue winterskies :D

Goodbye

I got the same error message after changing the resolution of B24 for the first time, but figured out why.

Initially the game started with 640x480 and "Double Pixel Size" in Windowed mode (Can't explain better ATM, I'm at work, but the option shows up on the screen resolution selection page - the button says something like "x1", "x2" and "fullscreen"), basically resulting in a "800x600" Window, but doubled pixel size. (1 pixel becomes 4)

I have my Screen Resolution in Windows set to 1680x1050 which is the maximum my monitor can take and after changing the game resolution to 1680x1050 I got the same error message.
Reason for it was that the "x2" was still checked (would have resulted in a "3360x2100" Resolution because of the "x2" Setting), so in order to change the resolution and set it to full-screen I did the following :

- Start up Cortex Command (it will start in 640x480, Double Pixel, Windowed mode)
- Go in the Options and set it to "Full Screen", then exit the game
- Start up Cortex Command again (it will start in 640x480, Single Pixel, Full Screen mode, but stretched)
- Go in the Options and set it to your monitors native Resolution, then exit the game
- Start up Cortex Command again (it will start with the resolution you set up, Single Pixel, Full Screen mode)

I guess you can set it to "Single Pixel" in "Windowed Mode" first too and then change the resolution and select full screen, but the above method at least worked for me.
It appears that it's currently not possible to change the resolution and full-screen option at the same time, but doing it in 2 separate steps worked for me.

Sorry about the lengthy post, but I hope I can transfer what I am trying to say. :)
