1. Did you try to modify the game? 2. Is it installed in Program Files? If 1, reinstall If 2, move the entire folder to the Desktop or if you know where your user account owns a folder, to there. |

It could be an old mod you are trying to start. |

It's an old mod. You need to find the file and correct the path. It's probably in Coalition.rte/Weapons/Sprites or something. |

i got one like this too, it says, rte aborted! (x_x) Abortion in file .\System\Reader.cpp, line 531, because Wrong type in Reader when passed to Serializable::Create() in Base.rte/Settings.ini at line 185 Last Frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bap' The error is typed out in red. Any clue on how to fix this? Also, if i reinstall, will i lose my mods? |

What you can do is reinstall to a different location, without deleting your current folder, and copy over the Base.rte/settings.ini from the new install to the old install. What that error says is that your settings.ini got messed up (probably from mods). |

Yes and yes. Try to keep a backup of settings.ini to easily fix this in future. |

My advice was for the other guy. Your problem is either with an old mod or a broken game due to permissions. The first requires knowledge of how to fix mods and you should either learn how to or make a request. The second is easily fixed either by taking ownership of the folder Cortex is installed in, or putting it on your desktop or other owned folder. |
