Off-Topic Book Club
What the title says!
Well, not exactly. I'm not one for rigid adherence to authority. More, I was wondering what people in the (off-topic) forums have been reading lately? Or any recommendations they have? Personally I'm into books that get you thinking, if anyone has any suggestions along those lines [books I've really enjoyed include House of Leaves, Slaughterhouse-Five, The Brothers Karamazov/Crime & Punishment, Brian Greene-type ♥♥♥♥, The Metamorphosis/The Stranger].
Right now I'm plowing through A Scanner Darkly at about a mile a minute, and it's tactfully trippy as anticipated. First PKD novel, and I'm enjoying it so far.

Re: Off-Topic Book Club
Recently I'm reading the book called Thing Explainer which is written by Randall Munroe. It's an interesting book because of it's special rule which is that it only uses "The ten hundred words people us the most" and thousand is not amongst them so he couldn't use it to state the rule. The book I read before it was "What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions" also written by Randall Munroe and the title pretty much speaks for itself.

Re: Off-Topic Book Club
I highly recommend Blindsight (and Echopraxia (the sequel)) for some good smart sci-fi.
and Accelerando for people who need sci-fi that will take them completely off the deep end...
