Re: Toybox (1.1)
I see Darlos9D complain about it and after that you start complaining about it. That's 2. I myself don't experience the same thing, so what the hell am I suppose to fix?
Either way, I don't think it's polite to tell people to get the fudge out. I don't care how long some people are on this forum or how good their mods are, it is no reason to treat others, being newcomers or just bad modders, disrespectful.
Besides, no one is forcing you to use this mod. I am happy if I can provide some fun to people with what I can put together but if people don't like it they should not use it. Surely beats screaming to people, don't you think?

I don't care how long some people are on this forum or how good their mods are, it is no reason to treat others, being newcomers or just bad modders, disrespectful. Thats nice and all, but unfortunately, on the internet, anyone can treat anyone however they want for any reason. Actually, thats true of all life, as long as the person doing it is willing to accept any consequences of what they do. I've said my piece that the sounds for the guns are quiet, muffled, and simply don't pack the "punch" that makes good gun sounds. Not saying they're not sounds from guns. They're just bad recordings of them. And - I honestly can't believe I have to explain this - if we turn the volume up for your guns, everything else becomes proportionally louder. This includes both basic CC stuff and other mods. So your guns would still be too quiet in relation. I wasn't an ♥♥♥hole in making this point, but you're making it sound like I'm being overly critical. Fine, ignore my criticism. But don't be surprised when you get it, from me as well as others. This is a section for both posting AND discussing third-party mods. If we say something is wrong with your mod, we're saying it because we hope that you'll make it better so we can all enjoy it, not to make you feel bad. (usually...) So if you can't handle it, either ignore it entirely and don't tell us about how you're new and how we need to be nicer, or don't come here at all. This place isn't about being nice to everyone, it's about making good mods. If people don't seem like they're being nice to you - whether they really aren't or you're simply perceiving it as such - then its probably because your mod needs work. It's a logical conclusion, so come to it. Otherwise, I have no sympathy for you, sir.

Re: Toybox (1.1)
I don't have a problem with what you said, Darlos9D. Your criticism was constructive and I understand it completely. I'd be happy to solve the problems too, if I would see the same issues. I can't solve anything that I can't see is wrong. I'd be happy to add some decibels to them and send them to you and see if you like them better? It's really the only thing I can do. Anyway, I've no reason to be mad at you. My rant was totally aimed at Winterous. He was way out of line.

Re: Toybox (1.1)
I wasn't out of line, you weren't listening to me. And as Darlos said, if you don't listen to constructive criticism, you will get flamed.
It was constructive, I just didn't articulate it at all. Because I was frustrated with you not listening to me in the first place.

Re: Toybox (1.1)
How can you supposed to expect people to listen when you tell untruths in the first place? Lines like "Dude, just about everyone has a problem with the sounds." aren't exactly a motivation to listen to someone's issues when there's no proof of "just about everyone" having issues in the first place. If they do, then they surely don't mention it here.
Really, I WANT to help, I want to do everything I can to make stuff that I make better, but I can't do anything with nonsense nor will I jump up and try to fix stuff at lightning speed if only one person is experiencing said issue while I do not experience it. That's not too strange I hope?
It was Darlos9D who came up with the issue, so there were no 6 people having problems as far as I know (Control had a different issue about the sounds, something that I couldn't even dream of solving) and I'd love to louden the volume if that is the issue, but that's the only thing I can do. I don't have a huge database where I can pluck sounds from and the stuff I find on the internet are all a bit mweh in my opinion.
I am sorry if I sound frustrated, but it's because I am and I think I've the right to be. Not because what Darlos9D said, but what you said. (My floor is covered in hair I pulled out if you must know.)

O_O That's unhealthy. Anyway, I can understand that, I'm a frustrating person sometimes. And I exaggerate ANYWAY! They're just too quiet. And umm... *cough http://www.fpsbanana.comcough*

Re: Toybox (1.1)
It's okay. I'm quite a serious person (I think) and take anything someone says literally. I am also not a native english speaker, so perhaps some english expressions are lost on me too. I'll be trying to up the volume then. Perhaps more people would like to confirm the same issues though. Thanks for the link too. This'll surely come in handy.

Re: Toybox (1.1)
Oh, ok. That'd probably contribute to the situation.
Anyway, that site is really good, the 'Counter Strike: Source' pages are probably the best area for sounds though.

Re: Toybox (1.1)
I have two old half-life mods, Firearms and The Specialist. They're worth it for their weapon sound files alone, since both games have a plethora of different modern weapons. And they're both free mods, so they're not really copyrighted anyway.

ooh, I remember Firearms. Never played it online, but it seemed cool.
But the Specialists, now that was sexy...

Re: Toybox (1.1)
Darlos9D (or someone else), Does the volume needs upping for all the normal weapons sounds or also the Doom and Silencer ones? Can you hazard a guess how much decibels this would be? 5+? 10+? (20+? *shiver*)

Re: Toybox (1.1.2)
Well, I did some sound volume increasing and personally I think they are too loud now... but I'll leave it up to others to decide that. There are two folders in the sound folder, one +3db and +6db. Replace the originals with the volume increase you want. I compared the ingame smg and AK with the original sounds again, and I still don't hear any abnormal difference, except for some smg's (who, as far as I know are in real life not that noisy as other weapons) and some pistols (ditto)/rifles/fantasy guns/etc. etc. Anywaaay, moooving on... Did some other changes too; see the FiPo. Mainly Doomguys and Silencer went to a beautyfarm and added some decent explosions to the launchers in this mod. I hope people will enjoy it. Now to be trying a mech...

I like this, nice sprites ,rougly balanced and variety.
All things considered this is a rather nice pack.

Re: Toybox (1.1.2)
I recently got to try this out for myself - I was a little hesitant at first, but after playing with it I really like the variety of weapons this mod introduces. A lot of them are just fun to use, and there's so many that you don't run out of toys to play with anytime soon. (Har har), Honestly I like the sounds as-is. Glad to have tried it, and thank you for making it.
