Moderators could put out-of-date mods in a different section, but that'd be a lot of work for them. That's not counting creators wanting their mods sent back to the original section once the mod is updated.
The management becomes too much for our modest moderation team.

To be honest, things are probably going to stay the way they are unless we get support from Data for some way of sorting through mods. That might not happen for a while.


It isn't much, but all the non-1.0 versions have had their tags grayed out a bit. You can just look at the mods with the bright red 1.0 by their names.

Cortex Command is also fairly backwards compatible, so the mod section isn't as fragmented as you might think.
