Programs for spriting/editing
Hello, Little question, I want to test some stuff like editing vanilla characters. Of course Paint works but I don't if there are easier/better ways to sprite. Help?

This.If you are going to use the sprites, you're going to need to apply palettes. Also, I'd rather recommend searching the mod making section for stuff like this.

Thanks my men!
Luckily I already got GraphicsGale, but never really got in to it...
So I'll have a look, also is MSPaint different than Paint?

Re: Programs for spriting/editing
MS Paint is Paint. MicroSoft Paint.
I mean graphicsgale is a lot more powerful, and if you're new to the whole bsns at all you should learn that instead of getting yourself used to a program that will inherently be slower to use.

Grown men are speaking, be quiet.
XP MSpaint doesn't ♥♥♥♥ up palettes, Vista and on MSpaint ♥♥♥♥ up palettes.

Re: Programs for spriting/editing
Im sorry halo, but did you see that big ♥♥♥♥ skull with engineer next to it? I trust that a little more... I really appriciate the help man, but I'm gonna try GG. Also thanks Lizard, I would never think an actual engineer would respond . But however im gonna get in to GG. Should I watch some videos, just test some stuff, or actually read a whole manual? Thanks

Re: Programs for spriting/editing
Earlier versions of Paint are... sufficient, but I would liken it to attempting to paint a masterpiece using only swatches of red, green, and blue - and mixing them manually. On the canvas. With your nose.Ultimately whilst you can do it, recent versions have quirks that screw with sprite saving (as mentioned) and even the versions that work will be clunky for what you want to do. I prefer to do all my spritework using GIMP, myself. Also I'm pretty sure Lizardheim thar has done actual spritework for Cortex Command; if anyone knows good tools for the job, it's him.

Re: Programs for spriting/editing
Yeah the pallets in paint are ♥♥♥♥. But I thought it was good to start with. As Lizard said it would also be good to just start with the good programs.
