I never realized X-COM was an inspiration for CC. When I thought about it, the first similarity that came to mind was that you killed more teammates than enemies when you use grenades. Then I thought more and made the connection between the meta game, equipment, and technology. Good to know one of my favorite old games inspired one of my favorite newer games :)
