Hmm, I don't think that's a reliable test. Scrap pixel aren't actually easier to destroy, it's just that when they get destroyed they also destroy a bunch of pixels above them. So, it's not strange that you could walk on top of pixels of mega metal without destroying them. But if you had destroyed a single pixel beneath other pixels, you'd get the scrap destruction.

I packaged up the Wall Spawning gun that I used to make the gif (just with the sprites changed to random ronin sprites, to avoid dependancies.) See if you can get it working. Adding a deep group didn't work in any case.

I just wanted to say that I still play the game (and mod it for myself from time to time) with my flatmate. We have massive fun in front of the TV.

Hey this probably isn't the best thread to ask in, but does anybody remember an old mod where wounded clones were given prostheses, or a mod where there were some zombie actors with jetpacks and stuff?

I'm not a mod, nor I pretend to be one, but I'd say you should open a new thread to ask that instead of hijacking someone else's.

That said, I don't remember the mod you're talking about, sorry.
