Mission: [Ronin] Nest
Credits: Particle cannon by deathbringer Dafred and Mia sucessfully infiltrated coalition base and stole their newest weapon systems blueprints. Clones are after them. You must take position and cover them with fire. They are almost unarmed because we could not use heavy ammunition for this mission. Clones deployed electrmagnetic detectors everywhere. They can detect even small amounts of metal incuding medium firearms and jetpacks. Hold the enemy while Dafred is waitng for escape drop ship. This is the only one we have now, so don't waste it. Local Trade Star is temporary low on supplies and we can't send any reinforcements. They have only rockets available, so don't expect any help. We observe heavy winds above the plateau, so be carefull. Good luck Dimitri. Updated: Apr 18, 2014 - B30 compatibility Updated: Oct 03, 2012 - V1.0 RC1 compatibility Updated: Jun 03, 2012 - B27 compatibility Updated: Sep 25, 2011 - B26 compatibility Updated: Aug 4, 2011 - B25 compatibility Updated: Dec 29, 2010 - B24 compatibility Updated: Aug 13, 2009 - Fixed bug preventing from mission completion if you waste dropship before landing - Rocket spawn mechanism corrected Please report eny errors in console or gameplay. I was too tired to debug this one again and again.

Damn, this mission is easy compared to your other missions. Only one quip about this one: Dimitri's Sakura x30 is really hard to aim with, especially when you use him (being on top of the cliff and all). If you could make the sharp-aim move more slowly, then it would be better (I mean, make it so that when you are sniping the other side of the map, the aim doesn't swing so wildly. I'm pretty sure joint stiffness has something to do with it).

@Point.blank: When you give a weapon an insane range that's bound to happen. (Joint stiffness can't help here.) Once again a job well done, weegee. Really amazing.

Re: Mission: [Ronin] Nest
Is it hard? Yes. Need a lot of luck to finish it smoothly.
Not hard enough? Nah. We don't need missions harder than Stratosphere, because that would literally be hell.
GJ, weegee.
PS: The sakura x30 is not done right. I imagine it being a coalition heavy sniper resprite with wooden stock and fore grip, reduced caliber, a HUGE scope, complete with bipods. Now that's the rifle for super long range sniping(for CC, that's quite a darn long range).

No missions no bugs, so here's an update to grab. Fixes a bug that can make mission endless if you waste dropship before landing it for the first time. BTW everyone who lacks challenge in this mission are welcome to evacuate all ronins on rockets

It was really fun, but i'd pin the sniper to his post. It's super annoying to have the recoil knock him around and then to lose your shot because of it. it might be just a challenge thing, but it kept me from using the sniper and just sticking to the pistols on the ground. Something to think about
That's the only thing about it that wasn't fantastic, another great weegee mission.

Am I the only one who just had Dimitri jump down?

If you keep jumping to the right as he falls from the cliff, he can skirt the terrain easy. I did it the first time I tried your mission. However, I will admit trying to reproduce it after was harder. Also found a way to use the heavy recoil of the gun + jumping to make it easier.

Re: Mission: [Ronin] Nest (Updated: 13-aug-2009)
I just let Dimitri fall and die. I gave a captured shotgun to Mia and the Sakura x30 to Dafred. Than I just held out untill the DS came controlling Mia, 'cause the AI has better aim than me with the sniper. But a soldier flew into my DS engine when it stalled and a rocket came down. I put Dafred in it, got pinned to the wall by the wind, and then fried by the ion cannon.

Killing Dimitri for his rifle is rather cruel, you know

That's the only thing about it that wasn't fantastic, another great weegee mission. That's why you go prone when doing super long range sniping. It really reduces the recoil, somehow.

Very well done, I've only gotten as far the fixing the DS phase, stupid clones keep blowing it up.
