Re: theBends - Aquatic Adventure!

Re: theBends - Aquatic Adventure!
@zombie: Your .rte didn't appear to work. I'll merge them all myself after I finish my drill, don't worry. @gta: This is going to be the style of diving suit I'm basing the brain's suit off of, and you'll be free to equip it with a drill. Would a rivet gun work while submerged anyway?

Re: theBends - Aquatic Adventure!
nice, only i want the humans (coalition/ronin) units to suffocate that would be awesome, watching your enemies deliver coalition only to have them float upwards while suffocating.

Re: theBends - Aquatic Adventure!
Judging by what grif said this is just a scene with low gravity.
Air (water) resistance would be nice, I'll try this now though.

Re: theBends - Aquatic Adventure!
Yes it is, but there's also a submarine dropship, a diver dummy, a harpoon gun, a depth charge, etc etc.

Re: theBends - Aquatic Adventure!
Map DL, Good job!
I do have a few ideas for this map though. For the crab you mentioned, you could make a claw that throws stones, and reloads 1 stone every... 4 seconds? The secondary claw would be like a melee weapon that pinches or slashes.
For the sea lab, (which you also mentioned) you could have a scientist guy with a laser pistol and a breathing mask and scuba tank.
I don't know about the scientist, but the crab claw sounds good to me.
By the way, this is one of the best maps I have ever used, Keep up the good work!

Re: theBends - Aquatic Adventure!
Make the lab have no gunholes, as it would need to be airtight. ANd crabs can only use one weapon, which is why they tend to be really powerful as compensation.

Re: theBends - Aquatic Adventure!
I forgot to mention that, you would have 2 seperate crabs that have those claw weapons.

Re: theBends - Aquatic Adventure!
This is a nice looking scene. But unfortunately the hazy dark blue background doesn't really seem to support higher wide screen resolutions. In those resolutions, instead of covering the whole screen, it only covers a smaller part, and when you move left or right it scrolls off of the screen leaving only darkness in the background.
I think I brought this up on an older scene that had the same problem and was promptly responded to with "who cares." But game development (which modding is a derivative of) is just like any other software/computer development: the fact that it will be running on different platforms must be considered.
Unfortunately, I'm not too certain what the proper solution is. Somebody who knows about scenes would have to figure it out.

Re: theBends - Aquatic Adventure!
can you put emmiters in the scene? theese emmiters can emmit particles than will hurt organic actors(the fully armored ones will not get hurt) so it might be buggy but it could work... so this way the unurmored actors(thus no breathing mask)will die and the armored actors(a breathing mask/suit) will survive

Re: theBends - Aquatic Adventure!
Just set the emitted particle sharpness to 0 and the mass to -some number and make it a bubble. And put it emitting from a clam! Which would be a legless ACrab.
